As the divine Ganga approached, Krishna—the infallible Lord—rose from His seat with deep respect. The gopas, witnessing this extraordinary moment, were seized with fear; their necks bowed humbly, reverently, before the sacred presence. Ganga herself hurried forward, eager to speak, yet her posture was marked by humility and apprehension; her throat, lips, and palate had gone dry from nervousness. Seated upon a lotus, Krishna bestowed fearlessness upon the trembling Ganga, offering her comfort and assurance. As Ganga’s gaze lifted, she beheld Radha—seated above on a majestic throne. She saw the primal origin, the eternal source from whom countless Brahmas arise, unmatched in form and quality throughout the universe. In that assembly, Radha shone with auspiciousness, blessed by Subhadra’s fortune, and radiant with the good fortune of her Lord. Radha was not only half of Krishna’s body, but equal to Him in brilliance, youth, and splendor. Her luminous presence concealed even the Lord’s assembly, making it glow with supreme radiance. Unborn, mother of all, honored and full of self-respect, Radha was blessed and revered by all. At that moment, Radha addressed the Lord of the universe. With passion in her voice, she said, “Always gazing at you by my side, full of desire, my eyes reddened with longing. I faint from the beauty before me, my body marked with goosebumps. And you, too, always look at me with desire, smiling. You alone, again and again, commit such improper acts. Take this dear beloved, O libertine, and leave Goloka. I saw you with Viraja in the sandalwood forest. By merely hearing my name from you, she vanished—a place a hundred yojanas wide and four times as long. When I had gone home, you returned to her. Then, rising from the waters by her yogic power, she became a perfected yogini. You embraced her and deposited your seed. I saw you with a beautiful gopi in the champaka grove. Her beauty, leaving her body, entered the orb of the moon. That which has been given by you, having been distributed with a pure heart—a portion to the lotus-faced women, a portion to the king as well, a portion to sandalwood pastes, and a portion also to waters, a portion to fruits and grains, and to those that are well-ripened. You were seen with the radiant Gopi in the forest of Vrindavana. Her radiance, leaving her body, entered the orb of the sun. That which was given by you, distributed with love and in tears before—a portion to the fire, and a portion also to kings, a portion to groups of thieves, and a portion also to serpents, a portion to women endowed with good fortune, and also to those who are renowned. You were seen together with the peaceful Gopi in the circle of the rasa dance, adorned with jeweled lamps, in a palace made of jewels. The betel you gave, fragrant, was enjoyed by her. At the mere sound of my name, you immediately became invisible.” Thus, Radha spoke, revealing her longing and the mysteries of Krishna’s loving pastimes, as the assembly listened in awe and reverence.
