सुत्रामाणः प्रयाज्यास्तु आज्याशा ये तु सांप्रतम्
Those who are called Sutrāmāṇa are the chief recipients of offerings, and those who are called Ājyāśā at present.
उपयाज्याः सुधर्माण इति देवाः प्रकीर्त्तिताः
Those called Sudharmāṇa are the secondary recipients; thus the gods are declared.
पुलहात्मजपुत्रास्ते विज्ञेयास्तु रुचेः सुताः
They should be known as the sons of Pulaha, and the sons of Ruci.
पौलहस्तत्त्वदर्शी छ भार्गवश्च निरुप्सुकः
Paulaha, the seer of truth, and Bhārgava, the impartial one.
सुतपाश्चैव वासिष्ठः सप्तैते तु त्रयोदश
Sutapā, the son of Vasiṣṭha—these seven are the thirteen.
अनेकः क्षत्रविद्धश्च सुरसो निर्भयो दश
Aneka, Kṣatravidha, Surasa, Nirbhaya—these are ten.
चतुर्दशे तु पर्याये भौत्यस्याप्यन्तरे मनोः
In the fourteenth cycle, in the period of the Bhauti Manu as well.
चाक्षुषाश्च पवित्राश्च कनिष्ठा भ्राजितास्तथा
Cākṣuṣa, Pavitra, Kaniṣṭha, and also Bhrājita.
निषादाद्याः स्वराः सप्त सप्त तान्विद्धि चाक्षुषान्
Know that the seven notes, beginning with Niṣāda, are the seven notes of the Cākṣuṣa era.
सप्त लोकाः पवित्रास्ते भ्राजिताः सप्तसिंधवः
The seven worlds are pure; the seven rivers shine brightly.
सर्वे मन्वन्तरेद्राश्च विज्ञेयास्तुल्यलक्षणाः
All the stars in each Manvantara should be understood as having similar characteristics.
त्रैलोक्ये यानि सत्त्वानि गतिमन्ति ध्रुवाणि च
All beings in the three worlds, those with movement and those that are fixed, exist.
भूतापवादिनो हृष्टा मध्यस्था भूतवादिनः
Those who deny the existence of beings are delighted; those who affirm beings are neutral.
अग्नीध्रः काश्यपश्चैव पौलस्त्यो मागधश्च यः
Agnīdhra, Kāśyapa, Paulastya, and Māgadha are among them.
शुक्रश्चैव तु वासिष्ठः पौलहो मुक्त एव च
Śukra, Vāsiṣṭha, Paulaha, and Mukta are also included.
उरुर्गुरुश्च गंभीरो बुद्धः शुद्धः शुचिः कृती
Urur, Guru, Gambhīra, Buddha, Śuddha, Śuci, and Kṛtī.
सावर्णा मनवो ह्येते चत्वारो ब्रह्मणः सुताः
These four Sāvarṇa Manus are sons of Brahmā.
भौत्यस्यैवाधिपत्ये तु तूर्णं कल्पस्तु पूर्यते
When the rule over the elements is established, the Kalpa is quickly completed.
निःशेषेषु तु सर्वेषु तदा मन्वन्तरेष्विह
Then, in all the Manvantaras here, everything is exhausted.
सप्तैते भार्गवा देवा अन्ते मन्वन्तरे तदा
These seven Bhārgava gods appear at the end of the Manvantara.
पितृभिर्मनुभिः सार्द्धं क्षीणे मन्वन्तरे तदा
Then, when the Manvantara is finished, the ancestors together with the Manus.
ततः स्थाना नि शुभ्राणि स्थानिनां तानि वै तदा
Then, the pure places of the established ones remain at that time.
ततस्तेषु व्यतीतेषु त्रैलोक्यस्येश्वरेष्विह
Then, when those rulers of the three worlds have passed away here.
अजिताद्या गणा यत्र आयुष्मन्तश्चतुर्दश
There, the groups beginning with Ajita, fourteen in number, are long-lived.
सशरीराश्च श्रूयन्ते जनलोके सहानुगाः
They are heard to remain in the world of Janas, together with their followers, in bodily form.
भूतादिष्ववशिष्टेषु स्थावरां तेषु तेषु वै
Among the remaining beings, the immovable ones are found in each of those places.
देवेषु च गतेष्वूर्द्ध्वं सायुज्यं कल्पवासिनाम्
When the gods ascend, those who dwell for a kalpa attain union.
संस्थापयति वै सर्गमहर्दृष्ट्वा युगक्षये
He establishes creation again, having witnessed the great dissolution at the end of the age.
रात्रिं युगसहस्रान्तां ते ऽहोरात्रविदो जनाः
Those who know day and night call the night the end of a thousand ages.
त्रिविधिः सर्वभूतानामित्येष प्रतिसंचरः
This is the threefold dissolution of all beings.
