Then Brahmā again spoke to the boy Nīlalohita.
The earth is the third form of yours, known by name as this one.
He then entered that earth; therefore, he is called Śarva.
One should not relieve oneself in the shadow, nor on the path, nor in one's own shadow.
Whoever behaves thus on earth, Śarva does not harm him.
The fourth name of yours, which I have spoken here, is Īśāna.
When this was said, that which is within the body became fivefold, known as prāṇa.
Therefore, one should not revile the wind, the lord who moves about.
Thus, when one acts accordingly, Maheśāna, the great lord, does not harm that person.
The fifth name, which I have spoken, is Paśupati.
When this was said, that which is within the body became fire, known as heat.
Because fire became the animal, and because he protects the animals,
Therefore, one should not burn anything unfit for worship, nor scorch the feet.
Paśupati, the god, does not harm one who acts in this way.
The sixth name, which I have spoken, is Bhīma, O lord.
When this was said, that which is within the body became a cavity.
Because the god is remembered in space, therefore he is never confined anywhere.
One should not engage in sexual intercourse, nor should one throw away leftovers.
Then Brahmā again spoke to that god, the mighty and powerful one.
A twice-born who is initiated becomes the embodiment of that name.
That god entered the initiated Brāhmaṇa, the performer of Soma sacrifices.
Therefore, one should not speak ill of him, nor recount anything improper about him.
The god does not harm those twice-born who are thus devoted.
The eighth name, which I have declared to you as 'Mahādeva,'
When this was spoken, that lord's mind became intent on resolve.
Therefore, it is understood that Mahādeva is indeed the Moon.
Mahādeva is remembered as Soma; his essence is truly the host of medicinal plants.
Mahādeva does not harm the one who knows him thus as the Lord.
On a single night, both the Sun and the Moon come together.
All this is pervaded by Rudra, through his forms and names.
