Great sages and Gandharvas gathered by the thousands.
Seeing the mark of Srivatsa, with its divine features upon his chest,
Father, I am afraid of Kamsa; that is why I speak thus.

On that very night, a daughter was born to Yashoda.
He gave the son to Yashoda, but took the daughter himself.

Drawing his sword, he then wished to kill that maiden.
Kaṃsa, son of Ugrasena, whether through affection or resolve,
O delight of the Yadus, I have considered a means in this matter.
I will give that to you; do there as is proper.
Or else, I will bring all the embryos separately under your control.

Thus addressed and appeased, he then accepted that advice.
