This royal line, renowned as 'Raji’s,' struck terror into the hosts of Kṣatriyas.
The gods and the asuras then spoke to the Grandfather (Brahmā).
Speak to us, Lord of all worlds; we wish to hear.
Whoever fights for you will conquer the three worlds—of this there is no doubt.

Invited even by the gods, he was told, 'You will become Indra after conquering.'

He, the master of prosperity, took for the gods the supreme fortune that had been lost by the Brāhmaṇas.
There, together with the gods, Śatakratu (Indra) thus spoke to Raji.
'You are Indra of the gods, O king, of all—there is no doubt about this.'
But hearing these words of Śakra (Indra), he was deceived by that illusion.
When that king, equal to the gods, ascended to heaven,
His hundreds of sons obtained the station of the lord of Śacī (Indra).
Then, after much time had passed, the mighty one—
Prepare for me an offering cake the size of a jujube fruit.
O Brahman, I am emaciated, dispirited, deprived of kingdom and food.
If, O Śakra, you have thus urged me beforehand in this matter,
I shall strive, O Indra, illustrious one, for your benefit.
So, O Śakra, I will go; let your mind not be troubled.
And the best among the wise caused confusion in their understanding.
Those who became haters of Brahman were deprived of strength and valor.
Having slain all the sons of the king, who were devoted to desire and anger,
Whoever hears or causes this to be heard does not incur misfortune.
Thus ends the sixty-seventh chapter, named 'The Account of the Birth of Dhanvantari and Others,' in the third section, in the middle part, as spoken by Vāyu, of the glorious Brahmāṇḍa Mahāpurāṇa.

Gave inexhaustible food, delighted, with all desired enjoyments.
