कीर्त्यते धृतसामर्थ्यात्प्रजानां च शुभाशुभम्
The blessed and unblessed fates of beings are recounted, according to their sustained power,
कीर्त्यते भगवान्येन प्रसर्प्पति दिवः क्षयम्
The Blessed Lord is described, by whom the heavens are traversed and diminished,
गन्धर्वैरप्सरोभिश्च ग्रामणीसर्पराक्षसैः
With Gandharvas, Apsarases, chiefs, serpents, and Rākṣasas,
वृद्धिक्षयौ च सोमस्य कीर्त्येते सोमकारितौ
The waxing and waning of the moon, caused by the moon, are described,
कीर्त्यते शिशुमारस्य यस्य पुच्छे ध्रुवः स्थितः
The form of Śiśumāra is described, at whose tail Dhruva is fixed,
निवासा यत्र कीर्त्यन्ते देवानां पुण्यकर्मणाम्
The abodes are described where the gods of virtuous deeds dwell,
प्रविभागश्चरश्मीनां नामतः कर्मतीर्थतः
The divisions of the rays, by name and by sacred acts, are described,
वेश्यारूपात्प्रधानस्य परिमाणो महाद्भवः
The vast measure of primordial matter, in the form of the courtesan, is described,
पितॄणां द्विप्रकाराणां माहात्म्यं वा मृतस्य च
The greatness of the two kinds of ancestors, and also of the dead, is described,
स्वर्गलोकगतानाञ्च प्राप्तानाञ्चाप्यधोगतिम्
