विदुराक्रूरवरदो विश्वरूपप्रदर्शकः
The bestower of boons to Vidura and Akrūra, the revealer of the universal form.
सुभद्रापूर्वजो विष्णुर्भीष्ममुक्तिप्रदायकः
The elder brother of Subhadrā, Viṣṇu, the giver of liberation to Bhīṣma.
वृषभासुरविध्वंसी बकारिर्बाणबाहुकृत्
The destroyer of the demon Vṛṣabha, the enemy of Baka, the one who made Bāṇa's arms.
पार्थसारथिरव्यक्तो गीतामृतमहोदधिः
The charioteer of Pārtha, the unmanifest, the great ocean of the nectar of the Gītā.
दामोदरो यज्ञभोक्ता दानवैद्रविनाशनः
Dāmodara, the enjoyer of sacrifices, the destroyer of the pride of the generous.
जलक्रीडासमासक्तगोपीवस्त्रापहारकः
Absorbed in water play, the taker of the garments of the cowherd maidens.
सर्वतीर्थान्मकः सर्वग्रहरूपी परात्परः
The essence of all sacred places, the embodiment of all planets, the supreme beyond the supreme.
कृष्णोन कृष्णभक्तेन श्रुत्वा गीतामृतं पुरा
Kṛṣṇa, having heard the nectar of the Gītā from a devotee of Kṛṣṇa in ancient times.
कृष्णप्रेमामृतं नाम परमानन्ददायकम्
The nectar of love for Kṛṣṇa, which bestows supreme bliss.
दानं व्रतं तपस्तीर्थं यत्कृतं त्विह जन्मनि
Charity, vows, austerity, pilgrimage—whatever has been performed in this life.
पुत्रप्रदमपुत्राणामगती नां गतिप्रदम्
That which grants sons to the sonless, and gives a path to those without a path.
शिशूनां गोकुलानां च पुष्टिदं पुण्यवर्द्धनम्
That which gives nourishment to the children of Gokula and increases virtue.
अन्ते कृष्णस्मरणदं भवतापत्रयापहम्
At the end, remembrance of Krishna dispels the threefold suffering of existence.
कृष्णाय यादवेन्द्राय ज्ञानमुद्राय योगिने
To Krishna, lord of the Yadavas, bearer of the gesture of knowledge, master of yoga—
इमं मन्त्रं महादेवि जपन्नेव दिवा निशम्
O great goddess, reciting this mantra day and night—
पुत्रपौत्रैः परिवृतः सर्वसिद्धिसमृद्धिमान्
Surrounded by sons and grandsons, one attains all accomplishments and prosperity.
एतावदुक्तो भागवाननन्तो मूर्त्तिस्तु संकर्षणसंज्ञिता विभो
Thus spoke the infinite Bhagavan, whose form is known as Sankarshana, O mighty one.
आनन्द पूर्ण्णंबुनिधौ निमग्नाः सभाजयामासुरहीश्वरं तम्
Immersed in the ocean of complete bliss, they honored that lord.
धराधरायापि कृपार्णवाय शेषाय विश्वप्रभवे नमस्ते
Salutations to you, O Shesha, lord of the universe, support of earth and mountains, ocean of compassion.
भवादृशा दीनदयालवो विभो समुद्धरन्त्येव निजान्हि संनतान्
O mighty one, compassionate souls like you always uplift their own devoted followers.
प्रदक्षिणीकृत्य धराधराधरं सर्वे वयं स्वावसथानुपागताः
Having circumambulated the lord who supports earth and mountains, we all returned to our own dwellings.
कृष्णस्य राधाकान्तस्य सिद्धिदम्
It grants success for Krishna, beloved of Radha.
श्रुतं साक्षाद्भगवतः शेषात्कथयतः कथाः
We have heard directly the stories narrated by Bhagavan Shesha.
यावन्ति मन्त्रजालानि स्तोत्राणि कवचानि च
As many collections of mantras, hymns, and protective charms as there are—
यावद्व्यरसींत्स मुनिस्तावत्स्वर्यानमागतम्
As long as the sage recited, so long did the celestial chariots arrive.
अगस्त्यचरणौ नत्वा समारुरुहतुर्मुदा
Bowing to the feet of Agastya, they joyfully ascended.
पश्यतां सर्वभूतानां भार्गवागस्त्ययोस्तथा
Before the eyes of all beings, as well as Bhargava and Agastya—
उपोद्धातपादे भार्गवचरिते षट्त्रिंशत्तमो ऽध्यायः

जगाद सर्ववृत्तान्तं मृगयोस्तु यथाश्रुतम्
He narrated the entire story of the deer, just as he had heard it.
