Thus, having slain the fierce and mostly violent beasts almost entirely,
When midday arrived, that king with his army,
Then descended with his troops and vehicles into those waters,
Having bathed and drunk the cool, pleasant water,
The king, with his forces, played in the water for a long time and then emerged,
When the sun was fierce, the king, with his army and followers, drank while standing,
As he was going, he saw the bank of the Narmada river,
Then, withdrawing, the king stationed his armies at a distance,
Then, accompanied by his priest, he went to that beautiful hermitage,
There, Jamadagni saw that best of kings,
Having received the honor that was duly offered by the sage,
The sage, seated on a seat of kusa grass, addressed that foremost of kings who was sitting there,
While conversing with him, the foremost among sages remained with the king.
Then the king, greatly pleased, spoke to Jamadagni.
I possess a complete force of vehicles and troops, O great sage.
Or, by the power of your austerity, you may today perform hospitality for me.
Otherwise, O best of sages, with exceedingly wicked soldiers—
Thus addressed, the sage laughed and said, 'Wait a moment.'
Having spoken thus, he summoned the milch cow and said, 'This is my guest.'
Out of respect for the sage, she quickly gave to the king whatever was suitable.

That hermitage shone like a city, with charming women present.
