जग्राह परशुं शैव विबुधारिवधोद्यतः
He took up the Śaiva axe, intent on destroying the enemies of the gods.
रुद्रभक्त्या समायुक्तो द्युत्येव सवितुर्महः
Endowed with devotion to Rudra, he shone like the radiance of the sun.
जगाम हन्तुमसुरान्युद्धाय कृतनिश्चयः
Resolved on battle, he went to slay the Asuras.
त्रैलोक्यविजयोद्युक्तै राजन्नतिभयङ्करम्
O King, prepared for the conquest of the three worlds, he was exceedingly terrifying.
कुद्धः परशुना तेन निजघान महासुरान्
Enraged, he struck down the great Asuras with that axe.
चचार समरे रामः क्रुद्धः काल इवापरः
In battle, Rāma moved in his wrath like another Time itself.
क्षणेन नाशयामास रामः प्रहरतां वरः
In a moment, Rāma, best of warriors, destroyed them.
ददृशुः सर्वतो रामं हतशेषा भयान्विताः
Those who survived, filled with fear, saw Rāma everywhere.
राममामन्त्र्य विबुधाः प्रययुस्त्रिदिवं पुनः
After taking leave of Rāma, the gods returned again to heaven.
स्वमाश्रमं समापेदे तपस्यासक्तमानसः
He reached his own hermitage, his mind absorbed in austerity.
भक्त्या संपूजयामास स तस्मिन्नाश्रमेवशी
There, remaining in the hermitage, he worshipped with devotion.
स्तोत्रैश्च विधिवद्भक्त्या परां प्रीतिमुपानयत्
With hymns, properly and with devotion, he brought supreme delight.
इति श्रीब्रह्माण्डे महापुराणे वायुप्रोक्ते मध्यभागे तृतीय उपोद्धातपादेर्ऽजुनोपाख्याने चतुर्विंशतितमो ऽध्यायः
Thus ends the twenty-fourth chapter, the Arjuna narrative, in the third section of the middle part of the Vāyu-recited Śrī Brahmāṇḍa Mahāpurāṇa.
प्रत्यक्षमगमत्तस्य सर्वैः सह मरुद्गणैः
He appeared directly before him, together with all the hosts of Maruts.
वृषेन्द्रवाहनं शंभुं भूतकोटिसमन्वितम्
He saw Śambhu, riding the bull, surrounded by countless beings.
प्रणाममकरोद्भक्त्या शर्वाय भुवि भार्गवः
Bhārgava, with devotion, bowed to Śarva on the earth.
कृताञ्जलिपुटो रामस्तुष्टाव च जगत्पतिम्
Rāma, with hands joined in reverence, praised the Lord of the universe.
नमस्ते जगतो नाथ नमस्ते त्रिपुरान्तक
Salutations to you, Lord of the world; salutations to you, destroyer of Tripura.
नमस्ते सर्वभूतेश नमस्ते वृषभध्वज
Salutations to you, Lord of all beings; salutations to you, who bear the bull as your emblem.
नमस्ते सकलावास नमस्ते नीललोहित
Salutations to you, who dwell in all; salutations to you, blue and red-hued one.
कपालिने नमस्तुभ्यं सर्वलोकैकपालिने
Salutations to you, bearer of the skull; guardian of all the worlds.
नमो ऽस्तु पाशिने तुभ्यं कालकूटविषाशिने
Salutations to you, who hold the noose; who consumed the Kālakūṭa poison.

Salutations to you, Kapardin, crusher of the demon Andhaka.
गिरिजाकुचकाश्मीरविरञ्जितमहोरसे
Whose great chest is adorned by the radiance of Girijā's breast-jewel.
योगिध्येयस्वरूपाय शिवायाचिन्त्यतेजसे
To Shiva, whose form is contemplated by yogis, whose radiance is beyond thought.
सकलागमसिद्धान्तसाररूपाय ते नमः
Salutations to you, whose essence is the core of all scriptural doctrines.
शङ्करायाखिलव्याप्तमहिम्ने परमात्मने
To Shankara, whose greatness pervades all, the Supreme Self.
आदिमध्यान्तहीनाय नित्यायाव्यक्तमूर्त्तये
To the eternal, whose form is unmanifest, lacking beginning, middle, and end.
