Garments, fruits, and ornaments were produced.
आन्वीक्षिकं महावीर्यं पुटके पुटके मधु
Great power of inquiry, and honey in every cell.
त्दृष्टपुष्टास्तया सिद्ध्या प्रजास्ता विगतज्वराः
Strengthened by that accomplishment, the people became free from illness.
वृक्षांस्ताः पर्यगृह्णंत मधु वा माक्षिकं बलात्
They seized those trees, and forcibly took honey or bees.
प्रनष्टा प्रभुणा सार्द्धं कल्पवृक्षाः क्वचित्क्वचित्
The wish-fulfilling trees vanished along with their master, here and there.
वर्त्तंते चानया तासां द्वंद्वान्यत्युत्थितानि तु
With her, pairs of opposites arose among them.
द्वंद्वैस्तैः पीड्यमानास्तु चुक्रुशुरावृणानि वा
Tormented by those dualities, they cried out or covered themselves.
पूर्व निकामचारास्ते ह्यनिकेता यथाभवन्
Those who formerly wandered at will became homeless as before.
मधुधुन्वत्सु निष्ठेषु पर्वतेषु नदीषु च
On honey-laden peaks and mountains and rivers.
यथाजोषं यथाकामं समेषु विषमेषु च
As they pleased, as they wished, on level and uneven ground.
ततस्तान्निर्मयामासुः खेटानि च पुराणि च
Then they constructed villages and cities.
तेषामायामविष्कंभाः सन्निवेशांतराणि च
Their lengths, breadths, and internal arrangements.
मानार्थानि प्रमाणानि तदा प्रभृति चक्रिरे
From then on, they established measures and standards.
दश त्वंगुलपर्वाणि प्रादेश इति संज्ञितः
Ten finger-joints are called a 'prādeśa.'
तालः स्मृतो मध्यमया गोकर्णश्चाप्यनामया
'Tāla' is remembered as the middle measure, and 'gokarṇa' as the smallest.
रत्निरंगुलपर्वाणि संख्यया त्वेकविशतिः
A 'ratni' is twenty-one finger-joints by count.
किष्कुः स्मृतो द्विरत्निस्तु द्विचत्वारिंशदंगुलः
'Kiṣku' is remembered as two ratnis, forty-two finger-joints.
धनुःसहस्त्रे द्वे तत्र गव्यूतिस्तौः कृता तदा
Two thousand bows make a 'gavyūti,' which was established then.
एतेन योजनेनेह सन्निवेशास्ततः कृताः
By this arrangement, the settlements here were established accordingly.
चतुर्थ कृतिमं दुग तस्य वक्ष्यामि निर्णयम्

A divine city, square and praised, was constructed by them.
