Together with them, their actions and instruments increase.
Those whose authority has ceased remain established in their own duty.
Endowed with natural instruments, they are settled only in their own self.
Because of the multiplicity of persons, that activity is perceived.
For the liberated and the knowers of truth, nature is to be understood in union.
Non-existence arises again, like the flames of those who are at peace.
Along with these, the Maharloka is then attained.
Gandharvas and others, Piśācas, humans, and Brahmins and the rest—
While they dwell at that time among the inhabitants of the earth,
Then, becoming the seven rays, each one becomes a sun.
All moving and unmoving beings, as well as all rivers and mountains,
Then, all are helpless, burned by the rays of the sun.
Their bodies burned at that time, their sins cleansed at the end of the age,
Then, those people are born again among people of similar form.
In the new creation, the mind-born sons of Brahmā come into being here.
And when the worlds are burned by the seven suns at that time,
The oceanic and the cloud-born waters, and all terrestrial waters,
And all the water that comes and goes in abundance,
Because of which its own radiance appears, and the sound 'bhā' is used for pervasion and brilliance,
Because it spreads within and throughout the whole earth on all sides,
The root 'śara' is said to have various meanings when it is broken down,
At the end of a thousand yugas, when the day of Brahmā comes to a close,
Then, in that water, when fire is lost from the surface of the earth,
By this, this world is presided over by Brahmā, that mighty Person,
Then, in that single ocean, when all that is movable and immovable is lost,
Here, they recite this verse concerning Nārāyaṇa:
There, as all is being filled, he is called Nārāyaṇa,
The thousand-armed, the first progenitor, this Person composed of the three Vedas is thus described,
The golden-embryo, the great-souled Person, arises beyond the mind,
At the end of the kalpa, when darkness increases, Time, having become supreme, devours again,
