At that time, the gods who dwell in the celestial realms existed.
There were exactly twenty-eight crores of these virtuous beings.
There were three hundred crore, and also ninety-two crore.
In each cycle, the gods called 'celestial beings' are remembered.
The gods, the ancestors, the seers, and the immortals as well,
And those beyond caste and stage of life—at that time, the gods in the sky,
All became equal in their steadfastness when the great dissolution approached.
The gods dwelling in the three worlds here, those identified with their forms,
The gods who remain until the end of the cycle, when that dissolution arrived,
Disturbed, they set their minds on the world of Maharloka.
All, abundant in purity, attained perfection through the mind.
With brahmins, kshatriyas, vaishyas, and other people of various births,
Then, troubled, they set their minds on the world of Janaloka.
Thus, thousands of ages of the gods passed, one after another.
Along with those who dwell for a cycle, they indeed reached the world of Janaloka.
Having gone to Brahmaloka, the path from which there is no return,
They become equal to Brahma in form and in experience.
Having attained the bliss of Brahma, they are liberated along with Brahma.
Bound by measures and worship, they were then influenced by the conditions of that time.
When thus influenced, service is performed, and in the same way, joy arises.
Together with them, their actions and instruments increase.
Those whose authority has ceased remain established in their own duty.
Endowed with natural instruments, they are settled only in their own self.
Because of the multiplicity of persons, that activity is perceived.
For the liberated and the knowers of truth, nature is to be understood in union.
Non-existence arises again, like the flames of those who are at peace.
Along with these, the Maharloka is then attained.
Gandharvas and others, Piśācas, humans, and Brahmins and the rest—
While they dwell at that time among the inhabitants of the earth,
Then, becoming the seven rays, each one becomes a sun.
