सर्वलोकानपि रणे यो योद्धुं च समुत्सहेत्
Who could withstand all worlds in battle and fight,
अग्निपुत्रश्च बलवान्नलः परमदुर्ज्जयः
And Nala, the mighty son of Agni, supremely unconquerable.
तथात्वन्ये महाभागा बलवन्तश्च वानराः
Likewise, other illustrious and powerful monkeys were present.
तारश्च कुसुमश्चैव पनसो गन्धमादनः
Tara, Kusuma, Panasa, and Gandhamadana were among them.
सुषेणः सुधनुश्चैव सुबन्धुः शतदुन्दुभिः
Sushena, Sudhanu, Subandhu, and Shatadundubhi were also there.
कुञ्जरः शरभो दंष्ट्री कालमूर्तिर्महासुखः
Kunjara, Sharabha, Damshtri, Kaalamurti, and Mahasukha were present.
चिरवः करवस्ताम्रश्चित्रयोधी रथीतरः
Cirava, Karava, Tamra, Citrayodhi, and Rathitara were included.
यक्षास्यो गहनश्चैव धूम्रः पञ्चरथस्तथा
Yakshasya, Gahana, Dhumra, and Pancharatha were among them.
श्रुतायुर्विजयाकाङ्क्षी गुरुसेवी यथार् थकः
Shrutayu, desiring victory, devoted to his teacher, and as required.
पुण्ड्रश्चावरगात्रश्च चारुरूपश्च शतुजित्
Pundra, Avaragatra, Charurupa, and Shatujit were present.
मन्त्री भीमरथः संगो विभ्रान्तश्चारुहासवान्
The minister Bhimaratha, Sanga, Vibhranta, and Charuhasavan were there.
जाजलिः पञ्चमुकुटो बलबन्धुः समाहितः
Jajali, Panchamukuta, Balabandhu, and Samahita were included.
नवाक्षे हरिनेत्रश्च जीमूतो ऽथ बलाहकः
Navaksha, Harinetra, Jimuta, and Balahaka were present.
वीरबाहुः कृती कुण्डो कृतकृत्यः शुभेक्षणः
Virabahu, Kriti, Kunda, Kritakritya, and Shubhekshana were among them.
विकटः कवकश्चैव जवसेनो वृषाकृतिः
Vikata, Kavaka, Javasena, and Vrishakriti were included.
सहस्वारः शुभक्षेत्रः पुष्पध्वंसो विलोहितः
Sahasvara, Shubhaksetra, Pushpadhvamsa, and Vilohita were present.
गोधामा च धनेशश्च गोलाङ्गूलश्च नेत्रवान्
Godhama, Dhanesha, Golangula, and Netravan were among them.
बहुत्वान्नामधेयानां न शक्यमभिवर्णितुम्
Because of the great number of names, it is not possible to describe them all.
सर्ववानरसैन्यस्य सप्तद्वीपस्थितस्य तु
Of the entire army of monkeys, situated across the seven continents,
रणे निगूङ्य वामेन भुजेन स महाबलः
In battle, concealing with his left arm, that mighty one fought.
मौहूर्तिकीं गतिं गत्वा चतुः परशर्वानुपस्पृशन्
Having attained the speed of a moment, he touched the four directions.
मनोवायुगतिर्भूत्वा वाली व्यपगतक्रमः
Vālī, moving with the swiftness of mind and wind, abandoned all restraint.
वाली बाहुविनिर्मुक्तं विह्वलं नष्टचेतसम्
Vālī, having released him from his arms, saw him bewildered and his mind lost.
सिच्यांभसा सुशीतेन ह्यापादतलमस्तकात्
With cool water from a vessel, from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head,
उवाच रणचण्डं तं राक्षसेंद्रं कपीश्वरः
the lord of monkeys spoke to that fierce lord of the Rākṣasas in battle.
असंख्येयं बलं जित्वा यमं ससचिवं रणे
Having conquered countless forces and Yama with his ministers in battle,
मरुद्गणं तथा रुद्रानादित्यानश्विनौ वसून्
as well as the hosts of Maruts, the Rudras, the Ādityas, the Aśvins, and the Vasus,
सिद्धांस्तथैव गन्धर्वान्यक्षरक्षोभुजङ्गमान्
the Siddhas, likewise the Gandharvas, Yakṣas, Rākṣasas, and serpents,
तथा भूतपिशाचांश्च विवृद्धबलदर्पितान्
and also the Bhūtas and Piśācas, proud with increased strength,
कथमीदृग्गुणो भूत्वा मनोवायुसमो जवे
How is it that, possessing such qualities and swiftness equal to mind and wind,
