तथैवास्याः सुबाहूश्च विख्यातौ च हहाहुहू
Likewise, Subāhū and the renowned Hahā and Huhū,
गन्धर्वाप्सरसो ह्येते मौनेयाः परिकीर्त्तिताः
These Gandharvas and Apsarases, descendants of Mauni, are enumerated.
सुमुखी हंसपादी च लौकिक्यो ऽप्सरसः स्मृताः
Sumukhī and Haṃsapādī, and Laukikyā are remembered among the Apsarases.
वरूथो ऽथ वरेण्यश्य ततो वसुरुचिः स्मृतः
Varūtha and the excellent Vareṇya, then Vasuruci is remembered.
सुषुवे सा महाभागा रिष्टा देवर्षिपूजिता
She, greatly fortunate, gave birth to Riṣṭā, honored by the divine sages.
मनुवन्ती सुकेशी च तुंबरोस्तु सुते शुभे
Manuvantī, Sukeśī, and Tuṃbarā were born to the auspicious one.
मेनका सहजन्या च पर्णिनी पुञ्जिकस्थला
Menakā, Sahajanyā, Parṇinī, and Puñjikasthalā,
प्रम्लोचेत्यभिविख्यातानुम्लोचैव तु ता दश
Pramlocā, who is well known, and Anumlocā—these are ten in all.
कुलोचितानवद्याङ्गी उर्वश्चेकादशी स्मृता
Kulocitā, flawless in form, and Urvaśī is remembered as the eleventh.
सर्वाश्च ब्रह्मवादिन्यो महाभागाश्च ताः स्मृताः
All of them are known as speakers of Brahman and are regarded as greatly fortunate.
आहृत्यः शोभवत्यश्च वेगवत्यस्तथैव च
Āhṛtyā, Śobhavatī, and Vegavatī as well,
वर्हयश्चामृताश्चैव मुदाश्च मृगवो रुचः
Varhayā, Amṛtā, Mudā, Mṛgavā, and Rucā,
ब्रह्मणो मानसाहृत्यः शोभवत्यो मरुत्सुताः
The mind-born daughters of Brahmā, the radiant ones, are said to be daughters of the Maruts.
युवत्यश्च तथा सूर्यरश्मिजाताः सुशोभनाः
There are also young women, born from the rays of the sun, who are exceedingly beautiful.
यज्ञोत्पन्ना स्रुचो नाम कुशवत्यां च बर्हयः
Born from sacrifice are those called Sruco, and among the Kuśavatyās are the Barhayas.
वायूत्पनाना मुदा नाम भूमिजा मृगवस्तथा
Born from the wind are those named Mudā, and from the earth, the Mṛgavas.
शोभयन्त्यश्च कामस्य गणाः प्रोक्ताश्चतुर्दश
The radiant attendants of Kāma are said to be fourteen in number.
देवतानामृषीणां च पत्न्यश्च मातरश्च ह
They are the wives and mothers of the gods and sages.
संप्रयोगस्तु कामेन माद्यं दिवि हरं विना
Union through Kāma occurred in heaven, except with Hara.
पर्वतस्तत्र संभूतो नारदश्चैव तावुभौ
There, Parvata and Nārada were born—both of them.
देवर्षिभ्यस्तयोर्जन्म यस्मान्नारदपर्वतौ
Because they were born from the divine sages, they are called Nārada and Parvata.
विनतायाश्च पुत्रौ द्वौ अरुणौ गरुडश्च ह
And from Vinatā were born two sons: Aruṇa and Garuḍa.
व्यवहार्याणि सर्वाणि ऋजुसन्निहितानि च
All the affairs and matters are straightforward and clearly present.
अनेकशिरसां तेषां खेचराणां महात्मनाम्
Among those great-souled beings who move in the sky, many have multiple heads.
तेषां प्रधाना नागानां शेषवासुकितक्षकाः
Among those serpents, the foremost are Śeṣa, Vāsuki, and Takṣaka.
ऐरावतो महापद्मः कंबलाश्वतरावुभौ
Airāvata, Mahāpadma, and both Kaṃbala and Aśvatara are included.
महाकर्णमहानीलौ धृतराष्ट्रबलाहकौ
Mahākarṇa, Mahānīla, Dhṛtarāṣṭra, and Balāhaka are also named.
सूनामुखो दधिमुखः कालियश्चालिपिण्डकः
Sūnāmukha, Dadhimukha, Kāliya, and Alipiṇḍaka as well.
प्रह्रादस्तु ब्रह्मणाश्च गन्धर्वो ऽथ मणिस्थकः
Prahrāda, Brahmaṇa, Gandharva, and Maṇisthaka are mentioned.
