Because, disregarding my word, you have resorted to renunciation.
There has been no practice of actions, desiring immortality.
Cursed by Brahmā, the gods sought to appease him.
Bowing with conciliation, Brahmā again spoke to them.
All that has come from me, how could it be contrary to my will?
Whatever exists in the world, whether auspicious or inauspicious, is established.
Whatever is desired by beings, and whatever is contemplated by them,
All this, the entire world of moving and unmoving things, has been bound by me.
Because the proud one carries everything here; it is not otherwise.
Thus, having spoken to those gods, who were intent on victory and focused in mind,
Because, having resolved with pride, the gods undertook renunciation and the like,
And happiness will arise as a result, being born with a divine nature.
In the Manvantaras, you will appear, perfected, in the seven (groups).
And thus, in that place, an ancient verse was sung by Brahma:
Having become these eternal, great, and passionate ones, the Lord dwells, leaving aside the rest.
When the Vaivasvata Manvantara has passed, you will come to me here.
Having attained the primal support, endowed with the power of yoga,
They were thus called Jayas, indeed, having such forms.
Then, the gods called Tuṣitas were born again in the Svārociṣa Manvantara.
After that, the gods were remembered as Satyas in the Manvantara of Uttama.
Then those gods, called Haris, became recipients of sacrifice.
Again, in the Vikuṇṭha Manvantara, the best gods were born.
Then again, those gods, having attained Vaikuṇṭha, entered the Cākṣuṣa Manvantara.
When the creation of Manu Vaivasvata arose again,
The twelve Ādityas were born, and with them, the gods of the present Manvantara.
The Sādhyas, having been cursed by Svayambhū, were born as the twelve immortals.
One who is endowed with faith in the victories proceeds, indeed, to each lesson.
I have now recounted everything to you; what more do you wish to hear?
Of serpents, spirits, Piśācas, Vasus, birds, and plants—
Thus addressed, at that time, Sūta replied to the most excellent sage.
