Know the directions as his ears, the earth as his feet; he, of inconceivable nature, is the mover of all beings.
From his thighs came the Vaiśyas, from his feet the Śūdras; all castes are born from his body.
Brahma himself is born from the egg, and by him the worlds are created.
Those worlds attain the realm of Brahma, the path from which there is no return.
They become equal to Brahma, both in form and in domain.
By the force of what must come to be, the primordial is extended by itself.
Just as, even in sleep, awareness arises without conscious intent.
By withdrawal, the distinctions among them cease, but not for those full of energy.
Among those who perceive diversity, who dwell in the world of Brahma.
Those perfected ones, possessing equal characteristics, are pure in essence and free from stain.
Having dispatched itself, nature acts according to this principle.
Again, creation proceeds for those whose selves are with cause.
Among them, there is the path of liberation for those who do not return to rebirth.
When they have gone above, rejoicing souls depart from the three worlds.
Those disciples who remain at the time of the destruction of the kalpa,
as well as the animals, birds, plants, and reptiles,
when a thousand rays of the sun are destroyed here,
then, in succession, those with a hundred rays burn the three worlds indeed.
Dried up first by lack of rain and scorched by them,
the moving and unmoving beings, along with all forms of righteousness and unrighteousness,
freed from the well-known heat and from the bonds of virtue,
having passed the night of Brahmā, whose birth is unmanifest,
then, when those inhabitants of the three worlds have entered there,
when the earth is flooded by rain, or in desolate oceans,
the waters, so called, flow forth, and the mountains as well.
Then the ocean, covering this earth, came into being.
All that, having come together, is perceived as the months and the radiances.
The element spreads out, and from that, the subtle ones are remembered.
In the one ocean, the waters exist; they are not destroyed, and thus, the people,
for as long as that night endures, remain in the form of water.
