Hearing of this, all the Pracetas, engaged in austerity,

Then, uprooting those trees, the wind dried them up.
Realizing the destruction of the trees, when only a few branches remained,
Seeing the true purpose for the continuation of the world,

And two to Bahuputra, and likewise two to Angiras.

The interval between the age of Cākṣuṣa and that of Manu is said to be the sixth.
Vasudevas, birds, cows, serpents, Dānavas, and Diti’s sons—

It is said that the creation of the former beings occurred through will, vision, and touch.

And how did Soma’s grandson attain the state of Śravaśura?
Here, the sages and those who possess knowledge do not rejoice.
Again, they are restrained, but the wise one is not deluded there.
Austerity alone became the greatest, and power was the cause.
One who is endowed with offspring and long life, having crossed over, is honored in the heavenly realm.
Thus, these six natural creations, each consisting of a Manvantara, have passed.
