इत्येते द्वादश प्रोक्ताः सुधामानस्तु नामभिः
Thus, these twelve are named Sudhāmānas.
विश्वधा विश्वकर्मा च मानसस्तु विराजसः
Viśvadhā, Viśvakarmā, Mānasa, and Virājasa.
अवध्यो ऽवरतिर्देवो वसुर्धिष्ण्यो विभावसुः
Avadhya, Avratir, Deva, Vasur, Dhishnya, and Vibhavasu.
रथोर्मिः केतुमाञ्छ्चैव कीर्त्तितास्तु प्रतर्दनाः
Rathormi, Ketuman, and Pratardana are also named.
सुदानो वसुदानश्च सुमञ्जसविषावुभौ
Sudana, Vasudana, and both Sumanjasa and Vishāva.
शिवा ह्येते तु विज्ञेया यज्ञिया द्वादशापराः
These are auspicious and should be known as twelve additional deities fit for sacrifice.
दिक्पतिर्वाक्पतिश्चैव विश्वः शंभुस्तथैव च
Dikpati, Vākpati, Vishva, and Shambhu likewise.
अश्वश्चैव सदश्वश्च क्षेमानन्दौ तथैव च
Ashva and Sadashva, as well as Kshema and Ananda.
इत्येता देवता ह्यासन्नौत्तमस्यान्तरे मनोः
These deities existed during the period of Uttama Manu.
पुत्रास्त्तवङ्गिरसस्ते वै उत्तमस्य प्रजापतेः
The sons of Angiras were the offspring of Uttama, the lord of progeny.
सप्तर्षयस्तु ते सर्व उत्तमस्यान्तरे मनोः
All these were the seven sages during the era of Uttama Manu.
देवाम्वुजश्चाप्रतिमौ महोत्साहो गजस्तथा
Devamvuj and Apratima, both of great energy, and Gaja likewise.
उत्तमस्य मनोः पुत्रास्त्रयोदश महात्मनः
Thirteen sons were born to Uttama Manu, the great-souled.
औत्तमः परिसंख्यातः सर्गः स्वारोचिषेण तु
The Uttama creation is enumerated as belonging to the Svārochiṣa period.
चतुर्थे त्वथ पर्याये तामसस्यातरे मनोः
In the fourth cycle, during the period of Tāmasa Manu.
पुलस्त्यपुत्रास्ते देवास्तामसस्यान्तरे मनोः
The sons of Pulastya were the deities in the era of Tāmasa Manu.
इन्द्रियाणां प्रतीयेत ऋषयः प्रतिजानते
The sages are recognized as the representatives of the senses.
इन्द्रियाणि तथा देवा मनोस्तस्यान्तरे स्मृताः
The senses themselves are remembered as the deities during the period of that Manu.
सप्तर्षयोंऽतरे ये च तान्निबोधत सत्तमाः
Hear now, O noble ones, the names of the seven sages of that era.
अत्रेयस्त्वग्निरित्येव ज्योतिर्धामा च भार्गवः
Atri is Agni, Jyotirdhama is Bhārgava.
चैत्रस्तथैव पौलस्त्य ऋषयस्तामसेंऽतरे
In the Tamasa Manvantara, O Paulastya, the sages were Caitra and others.
प्रियभृत्यो परीक्षिच्च प्रस्थलो ऽथ दृढेषुधिः
Priyabhṛtya, Parīkṣi, Prasthala, and Dṛḍheṣudhi were present.
पञ्चमेत्वथ पर्याये मनोः स्वारोचिषेंऽतरे
Now, in the fifth cycle, during the Svārociṣa Manvantara of Manu,
अमिताभा भूतरयो वैकुण्ठाः ससुमेधसः
Amitābhā, Bhūtaraya, Vaikuṇṭha, and Sumedhas were there.
चतुर्दश तु चत्वारो गणास्तेषां सुभास्वराः
There were four groups among them, all shining with great brilliance.
सुमतिर्वा विरावश्च धामा नादः श्रवास्तथा
Sumati, Virāva, Dhāmā, Nāda, and Śravās were also present.
अमिताभाः स्मृता ह्येते देवाः स्वारोचिषेंऽतरे
These are known as the Amitābhā gods in the Svārociṣa Manvantara.
अधृतिर्विधृतिश्चैव दमो नियम एव च
Adhṛti, Vidhṛti, Dama, and Niyama were also there.
इत्येतानीह नामानि आभूतयसां विदुः
These are the names known here of the Ābhūtaya groups.
नाथो विद्वानजेयश्च कृशो गौरो ध्रुवस्तथा
Nātha, Vidvān, Ajeya, Kṛśa, Gaura, and Dhruva were present as well.
