In each creation, likewise, distinctions arise in the same manner.
This is the characteristic of all the Manvantaras.
Thus, the world of living beings does not remain, constantly changing through decline and rise.
Thus, the characteristics of the ages have been stated in summary.
By one Manvantara, indeed, all intervals are encompassed.
For those yet to come, likewise, reasoning should be applied by the wise.
All those who are equally esteemed indeed exist with names and forms.
The sages and Manus, too, are all equal in purpose.
The Lord always establishes the nature of the ages accordingly.
I shall describe in detail and sequence the existence in the ages here.
Asurī, serpent, Gandharva, Piśācī, Yakṣa, and Rākṣasī.
Piśāca, Asura, Gandharva, Yakṣa, Rākṣasa, and serpent-born.
The height of eight divine births is ninety-six finger-widths.
This is considered their natural measure.
The measure of Devas and Asuras is said to be seventy-seven finger-widths.
The measure of Devas and Asuras is remembered as their height in the Kali age.
With his own finger as the measure, from the feet up to the head,
In all the ages of the world, in the past and future, here,
He whose body from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head measures ninety tālas,
Of cows, horses, elephants, and also buffaloes of various kinds,
The height of the hump of cattle is indeed seventy-six fingers,
A thousand fingers, except for forty fingers,
Such is the structure of the human body,
The body of the gods is said to be endowed with extraordinary intelligence,
Thus have been described these divine and human forms,
Cows, goats, horses, elephants, birds, and trees,
Are born in the abodes of the gods, and they appear in those forms again,
With measures corresponding to their forms, both stationary and moving beings,
Now I shall declare the remaining ones, those who are virtuous as well,
These indeed are born from Brahman of the same kind, therefore they are called the virtuous,
