By Brahmins, armed and in hundreds and thousands,
Along with all the others, the king will kill those born of Shudra lineage.

Having destroyed all the kings and thousands of mlecchas,
Only a few people remained here and there in the lands.
They insult one another, striking each other mutually.
Then all the people, afflicted by mutual fear,
Disregarding their own lives, they are deeply distressed without cause.
Without restraint, without lamentation, without affection, and without shame,
Abandoning their sons and wives, their senses bewildered by grief,
They resort to the borderlands, having abandoned their own countries.
Suffering greatly, they subsist on meat, roots, and fruits.
Then, those people, with only a few remaining, reach this condition of decline.
From disillusionment comes inquiry, and from inquiry, a state of equilibrium arises.
When those who remain in Kali are endowed with tranquility,
He causes their minds to be deluded, as if they were asleep or intoxicated.
Then, when that pure Kṛta Yuga begins,
Here, perfected beings remain and move about unseen.
Here, those remembered as Brahmins, Kṣatriyas, Vaiśyas, and Śūdras exist for the sake of seed.
