कांवोजा दरदाश्चैव बर्बरा अङ्गलौहिकाः
The Kambojas, Daradas, Barbaras, and Angalohikas,
लमकास्तालशालाश्च भूषिका ईजिकैः सह
The Lamakas, Talashalas, Bhushikas, together with the Ijikas,
तोमरा हंसभङ्गाश्च काश्मीरास्तङ्गणास्तथा
The Tomaras, Hansabhangas, the Kashmiris, and also the Tanganas,
झिल्लिकाश्चाहुकाश्चैव हूणदर्वास्तथैव च
The Jhillikas, Ahukas, as well as the Huna Darvas,
ततः प्लवङ्गवो ज्ञेया मलदा मलवर्तिकाः
Next are to be known the Plavangas, Maladas, and Malavartikas,
प्राग्ज्योतिषाश्च पुण्ड्राश्च विदेहास्ताम्रलिप्तकाः
The Pragjyotishas, Pundras, Videhas, and Tamraliptakas,
अथापरे जनपदा दक्षिणापथवासिनः
Now, other peoples dwelling in the southern region,
सेतुका मूषिकाश्चैव क्षपणा वनवासिकाः
The Setukas, Mushikas, Kshapanas, and Vanavasikas,
आभीराश्च सहैषीका आटव्या सारवास्तथा
The Abhiras with the Aishikas, Atavyas, and Saravas,
पौरिका मौलिकाश्चैव श्मका भोगवर्द्धिनाः
The Paurikas, Maulikas, Shmakas, and Bhogavardhinas,
दाक्षिणाश्चैव ये देशा अपरांस्तान्निबोधत
Now hear of the other southern lands,
पौलेयाश्च किराताश्च रूपकास्तापकैः सह
The Pauleyas, Kiratas, Rupakas, together with the Tapakas,
नासिकाश्चैव ये चान्ये ये चैवान्तरनर्मदाः
The Nasikas and others, and those between the Narmada,
कच्छिपाश्च सुराष्ट्राश्च आनर्ताश्चर्बुदैः सह
The Kachhipas, Saurashtras, Anartas, together with the Arbuda people,
मलदाश्च करूथाश्च मेकलाश्चैत्कलैः सह
The Maladas, Karuthas, Mekalas, along with the Kaitkalas,
तोशलाः कोशलाश्चैव त्रैपुरा वैदिशास्तथा
The Toshalas, Kosalas, the people of Tripura, and the Vaidishas,
अनूपास्तुण्डिकेराश्च वीतिहोत्रा ह्यवन्तयः
The Anupas, Tundikeras, Vitihotras, and the people of Avanti,
अतो देशान्प्रवक्ष्यामि पर्वताश्रयिणश्च ये
Now I shall describe the regions and those who dwell in the mountains.
अपप्राव रणाश्चैव ऊर्णा दर्वाः सहूहुकाः
Apapra, Rana, Urna, Darva, and Sahuhuka—
चत्वारि भारते वर्षे युगानि ऋषयो ऽब्रुवन्
The sages have declared that there are four yugas in the land of Bharata.
तेषां निसर्गं वक्ष्यामि उपरिष्टादशेषतः

आचक्ष्व नो यथातत्त्वं कीर्त्तितं भारतं त्वया

प्लक्षखण्डः किंपुरुषे सुमहान्नन्दनोपमः
Plaksha Khanda in Kimpurusha is vast, comparable to Nandana.
सुवर्णवर्णाः पुरुषाः स्त्रियश्चाप्सरसो पमाः
There, the men are golden in color, and the women are like celestial nymphs.
जायन्ते मानवास्तत्र निस्तप्तकनकप्रभाः
Humans are born there with a radiance like refined gold.
तस्य किंपुरुषाः सर्वे ऽपिबन् हि रसमुत्तमम्
All the Kimpurushas there drink the most excellent juice.
