कामराजान्तमन्त्रान्ते श्रीबीजेन समन्वितः
At the end of the Kāmarāja mantra, it is joined with the Śrī seed.
इत्थं रहस्यमाख्यातं गोपनीयं प्रयत्नतः
Thus the secret has been told, which must be carefully guarded.
सर्वेषा मपि मन्त्राणां विद्यैषा प्राणरूपिणी
This knowledge is the very life-force of all mantras.
संस्मृता पापहरणी जरामृत्युविनाशिनी
Remembered, she destroys sin and removes old age and death.
स्तुता विघ्नौघशमिनी ध्याता सर्वार्थसिद्धिदा
Praised, she calms hosts of obstacles; meditated upon, she grants all attainments.
भजेद्यः परमेशानीमभीष्टफलमाप्नुयात्
Whoever worships the Supreme Lady attains the fruit of their desires.
पूजयेद्धवलैः पुष्पैर्ब्रह्मचर्ययुतो नरः
A man endowed with celibacy should worship her with white flowers.
संकल्पधवलैर्वापि पूजयेत्परमेश्वरीम्
Or, he may worship the Supreme Lady with white flowers formed by resolve.
षोडशाक्षरविद्यां तामर्चयेच्छुद्धमानसः
With a pure mind, he should worship that sixteen-syllabled knowledge.
अनुलोमविलोमेन प्रजपन्मात्रिकाक्षरैः
Reciting the syllables of the mother-mantra in order and reverse order,
मनसोपांशुना वापि निगदेनापि तापस
Whether mentally, in a whisper, or aloud, O ascetic,
एकलक्षजपेनैव महापापैः प्रमुच्यते
By reciting one hundred thousand times, one is freed from great sins.
पापानि नाशयत्येव साधकस्य परा कला
The supreme power surely destroys the sins of the practitioner.
क्रमात्षोडशलक्षेण देवीसांनिध्यमाप्नुयात्
Gradually, with one million and six hundred thousand recitations, one attains the presence of the Goddess.
होमो ब्राह्मणभुक्तिश्च पुरश्चरणमुच्यते
Offering oblations and feeding Brahmins is called the preliminary rite.
मन्त्रान्ते पूजयेद्देवीं जपकाले यथोचितम्
At the end of the mantra, one should worship the Goddess appropriately during the time of recitation.
तद्दशांशं ब्राह्मणानां भोजनं विन्ध्यमर्दन
O Vindhyamardana, one-tenth of that should be the food for Brahmins.
तत्संख्याद्विगुणं जप्त्वा पुरश्चर्यां समापयेत्
Having recited twice that number, one completes the preliminary rite.
पश्चाद्वश्यादिकर्माणि कुर्वन्सिद्धिमवाप्स्यति
Afterwards, performing rites such as subjugation, one will attain success.
सर्वमात्मानमरुणं साध्यमप्यरुणीकृतम्
He makes his entire self red; even what is to be accomplished becomes reddened.
वल्लभः सर्वलोकानां वशयेन्नात्रसंशयः
The beloved of all worlds will bring them under control—of this there is no doubt.
शतमष्टोत्तरं जप्त्वा तिलकं कारयेद् बुधः
After reciting one hundred and eight times, the wise should apply the tilaka.
अर्धेन च शरीरेण स वशं याति दासवत्
With even half the body, she becomes subject, like a servant.
सद्य आकृष्यते सा तु विमूढहृदया सती
At once, she is drawn in, her heart bewildered.
सुरूपां च सशृङ्गारवेषाभरणमण्डिताम्
Beautiful, adorned with ornaments and attire of love—
जन्मनाममहाविद्यामङ्कुशान्तर्विदर्भितम्
The great mantra of births, furnished with the inner goad—
तदाशाभिमुखो भूत्वा त्रिपुरीकृतविग्रहः
Then, turning toward that desire, with a form made triple—
संयोज्य दहनागारे चन्द्रसूर्यप्रभाकुले
Having united in the fire-chamber, radiant with the brilliance of moon and sun—
प्रज्वलन्मदनोन्मेषप्रस्फुरज्जघनस्थलाम्
With hips trembling, ignited by the surge of love—
दूरीकृतसुचारित्रां विशालनयनाम्बुजाम्
Her good conduct cast far away, her lotus-eyes wide—
