अथ तुष्टो जगद्धाता पुनः प्राह महेश्वरीम्
Then, pleased, the Creator of the universe again spoke to the great goddess.
अथ श्रीत्रिपुरादक्षभागात्कामेश्वरः परः
Then, from the portion of Śrī Tripurā, the supreme Kāmeśvara appeared.
आविरासीन्महादेवः साक्षाच्छृङ्गारनायकः
The great god, the very Lord of Love, manifested there in person.
काचिद्बाला प्रादुरासीन्महागौरा महोज्ज्वला
A certain maiden appeared, exceedingly fair and radiant with great brilliance.
अथ श्रीपुण्डरीकाक्षो ब्रह्मणा सह सादरम्
Then the illustrious lotus-eyed one, together with Brahmā, approached with devotion.
आखण्डलादयो देवा वसुरुद्रादिदेवताः
The gods beginning with Ākhaṇḍala, and the deities such as the Vasus and Rudras,
योगीन्द्राः सनकाद्याश्च नारदाद्याः सुरर्षयः
The great yogis beginning with Sanaka, and the divine sages like Nārada,
यक्षकिन्नर गन्धर्वसिद्धविद्याधरोरगाः
Yakṣas, Kinnaras, Gandharvas, Siddhas, Vidyādharas, and Nāgas,
या यास्तु देवताः प्रोक्तास्ताः सर्वाः परमेश्वरीम्
All those deities who have been mentioned, they all approached the supreme goddess.
मनसा निर्मितं धात्रा मध्ये नगरमद्भुतम्
In the midst, the Creator fashioned a wondrous city by his mind.
श्रीमता वासुदेवेन सोदरेम महेश्वरः
The glorious Vāsudeva, along with Maheśvara, entered therein.
देवदुन्दुभयो नेदुः पुष्पवृष्टिः पपात ह
Divine drums resounded, and a shower of flowers fell.
को वा वर्णयितुं शक्तो यदि जिह्वासहस्रवान्
Who indeed is able to describe it, even if he had a thousand tongues?
विस्तृतं भुवनश्रेष्ठं कल्पितं परमेष्ठिना
That vast and excellent city, created by the Supreme Lord,
इत्थं ता देवतास्तत्र तिस्रः सन्निहिताः सदा
Thus, those three goddesses were always present there.
प्राप्तौ सभावनागारं तदा विधिजनार्दनौ
Then, Brahmā and Janārdana entered the assembly hall.
संस्कारं वैदिकैर्मन्त्रैः कथयामासतुर्मुदा
They joyfully performed the consecration with Vedic mantras.
विरञ्चिं दक्षिणेनाक्ष्णा वामेन हरिमैक्षत
With his right eye he beheld Brahma, and with his left, Hari.
प्रादुर्भूते प्रभापुञ्जे पञ्जरान्त इव स्थिते
When that radiant effulgence appeared, standing as if within a cage,
जय कामाक्षिकामाक्षीत्यूचतुस्तां प्रणेमतुः
They bowed and said, 'Victory to Kamakshi, Kamakshi!'
तिस्रः कोट्योर्ऽधकोटी च या यास्तीर् थाधिदेवताः
The presiding deities of each of the three crores and half a crore of sacred fords,
श्रीदेवीमुपतस्थाते वीजयन्त्यौ यथोचितम्
Approached the glorious Goddess, each in proper order, victorious.
आदिश्रीनयनोत्पन्ने ते उभे भारतीश्रियौ
When the primordial auspicious eyes arose, both Bharati and Shri appeared.
तदुच्चारणमात्रेण श्रीदेवी शं प्रयच्छति
By the mere utterance of that, the glorious Goddess bestows auspiciousness.
अथ सा जगदीशानी वेदवेदाङ्गपारगे
Then that Lady of the Universe, who has mastered the Vedas and Vedangas,
पश्यतां सर्वदेवानां विधातुर्मुखमाविशत्
In the sight of all the gods, entered the mouth of the Creator.
तदाज्ञां शिरसा धृत्वा रमा विष्णुश्च भक्तितः
Accepting her command with bowed heads, Lakshmi and Vishnu, with devotion,
प्रार्थयामासतुर्भूयस्तदावरणदेवताम्
Again prayed to that presiding deity of the enclosure.
तदावरणदेवत्वं प्राप्तौ पद्माच्युतौ तदा
Then Padma and Acyuta attained the status of presiding deities of the enclosure.
तत्र यातो महागौर्याः प्रतिबिंबो मनोहरः
There appeared a charming reflection of Mahagauri.
