तद्दशांशं ब्राह्मणानां भोजनं समुदीरितम्
A tenth part of that is prescribed as food for the Brāhmaṇas.
लक्षमात्रं जपित्वा तु मनुष्यान्वशमानयेत्
By reciting one lakh, he brings people under his control.
लक्षत्रितयजापेन सर्वान्वशयते नृपान्
By reciting three lakhs, he brings all kings under his control.
पञ्चलक्षजपे जाते सर्वाः पातालयोषितः
When five lakhs are recited, all the women of the netherworlds are attracted.
क्षुभ्यन्ति सप्त लक्षेण स्वर्गलोकमृगीदृशः
With seven lakhs, the celestial women of heaven are disturbed.
नवलक्षेण गीर्वाणा नखिलान्वशमानयेत्
With nine lakhs, he brings all the gods under his control.
लक्षद्वादशजापेन सिद्धीरष्टौ वशं नयेत्
By reciting twelve lakhs, he brings the eight siddhis under his control.
विष्णोर्विष्णुत्वमेतेन शिवस्य शिवतामुना
By this, Viṣṇu attains the state of Viṣṇu, and Śiva attains the state of Śiva.
अनेन मन्त्रराजेन जाता इत्यवधारय
Know that this has arisen by means of this king of mantras.
त्रैलोक्यसुन्दराकारो मन्मथस्यापि मोहकृत्
His form is beautiful in all three worlds, and even causes bewilderment to Cupid.
दर्शनादेव सर्वषामन्तरालस्य पूरकः
By his mere appearance, he fills the inner space of all.
बले मरुत्समानः स्यात्स्थिरत्वे हिमवानिव
In strength, he equals the Maruts; in steadfastness, he is like the Himalayas.
क्षणात्क्षोभकरो मूर्त्या ग्रामपल्लीपुरादिषु
With his form, he instantly causes agitation in villages, towns, and cities.
उच्चाटको मोहकश्च मारको दुष्टचेतसाम्
He is an expeller, an enchanter, and a destroyer of evil-minded ones.
अष्टादशसु विद्यासु निरूढिमभिगच्छति
He attains mastery in eighteen branches of knowledge.
न तस्याविदितं किञ्चित्सर्वशास्त्रेषु कुम्भज
Nothing is unknown to him in all the scriptures, O son of the pot.
तत्त्वञ्जानाति निखिलं सर्वज्ञत्वं च गच्छति
He knows all the principles and attains omniscience.
तत्कोपाग्नेर्विषयतां गन्तुं नालं जगत्त्रयी
Even the three worlds are unable to withstand the fire of his wrath.
विश्रस्तरशनाबन्धा गलत्कुण्डलसञ्चयाः
His girdle is loosened, and his collection of earrings is slipping.
अत्यन्तरागतरलव्यापारनयनाञ्चलाः
The corners of her eyes are restless with intense passion.
ऊरुस्तम्भेन निष्पन्दा नमितास्याश्च लज्जया
Her thighs are motionless with stiffness, and her face is lowered in modesty.
अन्यमाकारमिव च प्राप्ता मानसजन्मना
She has assumed a different form, as if born from the mind.
वीक्ष्यमाणा इवानङ्गशरपावकवृष्टिभिः
She appears to be struck by showers of fire from Cupid's arrows.
सिच्यमानाः श्रमजलैः शुच्यमानाश्च लज्जया
She is drenched with sweat and purified by modesty.
लोकाद्भयं बन्धुभयं परलोकभये तथा
There is fear of the world, fear of relatives, and also fear of the other world.
यत्र कुत्रापि तिष्ठन्तं तं धावन्ति मृगीदृशः
Wherever he stands, those with deer-like eyes run toward him.
तद्वद्भ्रमन्ति चित्तानि दर्शने तस्य सुभ्रुवाम्
In the same way, minds wander at the sight of those beautiful-browed ones.
तं सेवन्ते समस्तानां विद्यानामपि पङ्क्तयः
All the lines of knowledge serve him.
अन्यासां तु वराकीणां वक्तव्यं किं तपोधन
But what can be said of those other unfortunate ones, O ascetic?
तत्कीर्तिघोषणा पुण्या सदा द्युसद्द्रुमायते
The proclamation of her fame is auspicious and always becomes a celestial wish-fulfilling tree.
