मातृकाया उत्तरतस्तस्यां विन्ध्यनिषूदन
Beyond the Mother goddess, in that place, O destroyer of Vindhya,
श्रीमहाशम्भुनाथा च देव्याविर्भावकारणम्
Śrī Mahāśambhunātha is the cause of the goddess's manifestation.
उत्तरोत्तरमेतास्तु देवताः कृतमन्दिराः
These deities, one after another, have established their temples.
श्रीपादुकाचतस्रस्तदुत्तरोत्तरमन्दिराः
The four temples of the revered sandals are also arranged one after another.
महापद्माटवौ त्वन्या देवताः कृतमन्दिराः
Other deities, too, have established their temples in the great lotus forest.
तिरस्करणिकांबा च तथान्या पञ्चमी परा
There is also Tiraskaraṇikāmbā, and likewise another, the supreme fifth.
श्रीपूर्तिश्च महादेवी श्रीमहापादुकापि च
Śrīpūrti and the great goddess, as well as the revered great sandals, are present.
या विद्यास्ताः समस्ताश्च महापद्माटवीस्थले
All those vidyās reside on the ground of the great lotus forest.
उच्चध्वजा उच्चशालास्ससोपानास्तपोधन
There are tall banners, lofty halls with stairways, O ascetic.
दक्षिणे पार्श्वभागेतु मन्त्रिनाथागृहं महत्
On the southern side stands the great house of the chief minister.
ब्रह्मविष्णुमहेशानामर्ध्यस्थानम्य पूर्वतः
To the east is the honored seat of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheśa.
ललितामन्त्रजाप्याश्च श्रीदेवीं समुपासते
Those who recite the mantras of Lalitā worship the revered goddess.
याम्यद्वारप्रभृतिषु सर्वेष्वपि समं स्मृतम्
At all the gates, beginning with the southern, it is regarded as the same.
तच्छ्रीपट्टनमध्यस्थं योजनद्वयविस्मृतम्
That, situated in the center of the revered city, is said to be two yojanas in extent.
चिन्तामणिशिलाभिश्च च्छादिनीभिस्तथोपरि
Its upper part is covered with wish-fulfilling gem slabs and canopies.
गृहभित्तिस्तथोन्नम्रा चतुर्योजनमानतः
The house wall, slightly inclined, measures four yojanas in height.
ततोर्ध्वं ह्राससंयुक्तं स्थौल्यत्रिमुकुटोज्ज्वला
Above that, diminishing in size, shines the triple-crested pinnacle.
सदा देदीप्यमानानि चिन्तामणिमयान्यपि
Always shining, there are also mansions made of wish-fulfilling gems.
यस्य द्वाराणि चत्वारि क्रोशार्धायामभाञ्जि च
It has four gates, each half a krośa wide.
द्वारेषु सर्वेषु पुनश्चिन्तामणिगृहान्तरे
And at every gate, again, are inner mansions of wish-fulfilling gems.
मुहुः प्रवाहरूपेण प्रसरन्ती महामुने
Again and again, it spreads forth in the form of a current, O great sage.
दक्षिणद्वारदेशस्तु दक्षिणाम्नायलक्षणः
The region of the southern gate is characterized by the southern tradition.
उत्तरद्वारदेशः स्यादुत्तराम्नायलक्षणः
The region of the northern gate is marked by the northern tradition.
परितस्तत्र वर्तन्ते भासयन्तो गृहान्तरम्
All around there, they shine, illuminating the interior of the house.
अत्युच्चैर्वेदिकाभागे बिन्दुचक्रं महात्तरम्
In the area of the exceedingly high platform, there is a great circle of points.
भित्तिः क्रोशं परित्यज्य क्रोशत्रयमुदाहृतम्
The wall, leaving aside one krośa, is said to extend for three krośas.
चतुर्विंशतिसाहस्रहस्तैः संमितमुच्यते
It is declared to be measured by twenty-four thousand cubits.
अन्तरे भेदिते जाते हस्तसंख्या मयोच्यते
When a division arises within, I shall speak of the number of cubits.
हस्तविंशतिरुन्नम्रं तत्र स्युरणिमादयः
Twenty cubits in height are found there, along with aṇimā and the other powers.
किष्कुश्चतुःशती नल्वकिष्कुर्हस्त उदीर्यते
A kiṣku is four hundred nalvakiṣkus; a kiṣku is called a cubit.
