वीणावेणुमृदङ्गादि वादयन्त्यो मुहुर्मुहुः
They play again and again on vinas, flutes, drums, and the like.
मुहुर्गायन्ति नृत्यन्ति देव्याः पुण्यतमं यशः
Again and again they sing and dance the most sacred fame of the goddess.
पिबन्त्यस्तत्सुधातोयं संचरन्त्यस्तरीशतैः
They drink that nectar-water and move about with hundreds of boats.
प्रधानभूता तारांबा जलौघशमनक्षमा
Foremost among them is Mother Tara, able to calm the flood of waters.
त्रिनेत्रस्यापि नो दत्ते वापिकांभसि सन्तरम्
Even to the three-eyed one, passage across the pond's water is not granted.
महाराज्ञी महौदार्यं पतन्तीनां पदेपदे
The great queen displays her great generosity at every step to those who are falling.
प्रतिनौकं मणिगृहे वसन्तीनां मनोहरे
In each enchanting jeweled mansion, those residing dwell upon their own boat.
काश्चिन्नौकाः सुवर्णाढ्याः काश्चिद्रत्नकृता मुने
Some boats, O sage, are adorned with gold, and some are fashioned from jewels.
काश्चित्सिंहासना नावः काश्चिद्दन्तावलाननाः
Some boats are like lion-thrones, and some have the faces of elephant trunks.
तारांबामहतीं नौकामधिगम्य विराजते
Having attained the great boat of Tārā, she shines forth.
तन्वाना सततं तारा कक्ष्यामेनां हि रक्षति
Tārā, ever vigilant, protects this region by continually weaving her girdle.
बुद्धिशाल इति ख्यातश्चतुर्योजनमुच्छ्रितः
He is renowned as Buddhiśāla, rising to a height of four yojanas.
प्रतप्तकनकच्छायं तज्जलत्वेन वर्त्तते
It appears with the luster of molten gold, existing as a mass of water.
सोपानादिक्रमश्चैव पक्षिणास्तत्र पूर्ववत्
There, as before, is the arrangement of steps and the birds.
विहरन्ति मदोन्मत्ताः शक्तयो मदपाटलाः
The powers, intoxicated and flushed with passion, roam about there.
यां सुधामालिनीमाहुर्यामा हुरमृतेश्वरीम्
They call her Sudhāmālinī, and also Amṛteśvarī.
ईषदालोकमात्रेण त्रैलोक्यमददायिनी
With but a mere glance, she bestows intoxication upon the three worlds.
पारिजातप्रसूनस्रक्परिवीतकचाचिता
Her hair is adorned with a garland of Pārijāta blossoms.
पक्वं पिशितखण्डं च मणिपात्रे तथान्यके
Ripe pieces of flesh are placed in a jeweled vessel and in another as well.
ददाति वापीतरणं त्रिनेत्रस्यापि नान्यथा
She alone grants passage across the pond, even to the three-eyed one, and not otherwise.
अहङ्कारमहाशालः पूर्ववद्गोपुरान्वितः
The great mansion of Ego, as before, is furnished with gateways.
विमर्शवापिका नाम सौषुम्णामृतरूपिणी
There is the pond called Vimarśa, in the form of the nectarous Suṣumnā.
सुषुम्णदण्डविवरे जागर्ति परमामृतम्
Within the channel of the suṣumṇā staff, the supreme nectar remains awake.
पूर्ववत्तटसोपानपक्षिनौका हि ताः स्मृताः
As before, they are described as steps, banks, wings, and boats.
तमालश्यामलाकारा श्यामकञ्चुकधारिणी
She is dark as a tamāla tree, adorned with a dark blue cloak.
रत्नारित्रकरा नित्यमुल्लसन्मदमांसला
Constantly radiant, holding a jeweled oar, full of vibrant passion and vigor.
वापिका पयसागाधा पूर्ववत्परिकीर्तिता
A reservoir, deep with water, is described as before.
सूर्यबिंबमहाशालश्चतुर्योजन मुच्छ्रितः
A great hall like the solar orb rises to a height of four yojanas.
तन्मध्यकक्ष्या वसुधा खचिता कुरविन्दकैः
The earth in the middle enclosure is studded with kuravinda gems.
अतितीव्रतपस्तप्त्वा सूर्यो ऽलभत तां द्युतिम्
Having performed extremely intense austerity, the sun obtained that radiance.
