श्रीदेव्या ध्याननिषणाताञ्छ्रीदेवीमन्त्रजापिनः
Absorbed in meditation on the blessed Goddess, they recite the mantras of the blessed Goddess.
षोडशावरणं चक्रं मुक्ताप्राकारमण्डले
The sixteen-petaled wheel is encircled by a rampart of pearls.
हिरण्यबाहुप्रमुखा ज्वलन्मन्युमुपासते
Led by Hiraṇyabāhu, they worship the blazing, wrathful one.
तत्र स्थिताश्च रुद्राः के केन नाम्ना प्रकीर्तिताः
Which Rudras are established there, and by what names are they known?
यौगिकं रौढिकं नाम तेषां ब्रूहि कृपानिधे
Tell me, O ocean of compassion, their names both derived and traditional.
पञ्चयोजनविस्तारस्तत्संख्यायामशोभितः
It has an expanse of five yojanas, resplendent with that number.
मध्यपीठे महारुद्रो ज्वलन्मन्युस्त्रिलोचनः
In the central seat is the great Rudra, blazing with wrath, three-eyed.
त्रिकोणे कथिता रुद्रास्त्रय एव घटोद्भव
Within the triangle, it is said, are three Rudras, O Ghaṭodbhava.
हिरण्य बाहुः सेनानीर्दिशांपतिरथापरः
Hiraṇyabāhu, the commander, the lord of the directions, and another.
शष्पिञ्जरस्त्विषीमांश्च पथीनां पतिरेव च
Śaṣpiñjara, radiant, and the lord of the paths as well.
विव्याध्यन्नपतिश्चैव हरिकेशोपवीतिनौ
Vivyādhyannapati, and also Harikeśa, both wearing the sacred thread.
दशापत्रे त्वावरणे प्रथमो जगतां पतिः
In the ten-petaled enclosure, the first is the lord of the worlds.
अहं त्वन्यो वनपती रोहितः स्थपतिस्तथा
I myself, another as lord of the forests, Rohita, and likewise the chief architect.
मन्त्री च वाणिजश्चैव तथा कक्षपतिः परः
The counselor and the merchant, and then the lord of the boundary.
ओषधीनां पतिश्चैव षष्ठः कलशसंभव
The lord of the plants as well, the sixth, born from the pitcher.
कृत्स्नवीतश्च धावंश्च सत्त्वानां पतिरेव च
Kṛtsnavīta and Dhāvan, and the lord of beings as well.
सहमानश्च निर्व्याधिरव्याधीनां पतिस्तथा
Sahamāna, free from disease, and the lord of the healthy.
निचेरुश्चेति विज्ञेयाः षष्ठावरणदेवताः
Niceruṣ—thus are known the deities of the sixth enclosure.
जिघांसंतो मुष्णतां च पतयः कुंभसंभव
Those who intend to slay and to burn, the lords born from the pitcher.
प्रकृतीनां पतिश्चैव उष्णीषी च गिरेश्चरः
The lord of the elements, Uṣṇīṣin, and the wanderer of the mountains.
धन्वाविदश्चातन्वानप्रतिपूर्वदधानकाः
The bowmen, the stretchers of the bow, and those who string in succession.
विसृजन्तस्तथास्यन्तो विध्यन्तश्चापि सिंधुप
Those who release, those who let fly, and those who pierce, O Sindhupa.
तिष्ठन्तश्चैव धावन्तः सभ्याश्चैव समाधिपाः
Those who stand, those who run, and the assembly leaders as well.
विविध्यन्तो गणाध्यक्षा बृहन्तो विन्ध्यमर्द्दन
Those who shoot, the chiefs of the hosts, the mighty, the subduer of Vindhya.
अथ गृत्साधिपतयो व्राता व्राताधिपास्तथा
Then, the lords of the Gṛtsas, and the chiefs of groups likewise.
महान्तः क्षुल्लकाश्चैव रथिनश्चारथाः परे
Both the great and the small, charioteers and those without chariots, others as well.
क्षत्तारः संग्रही तारस्तक्षाणो रथकारकाः
Attendants, gatherers, guides, carpenters, and makers of chariots.
कर्माराश्चैव पुञ्जिष्ठा निषादाश्चेषुकृद्गणाः
Smiths, heapers, Niṣādas, and groups of arrow-makers.
अश्वाश्चैवश्वपतयो भवो रुद्रो घटोद्भव
Horses and their masters, Bhava, Rudra, and Ghaṭodbhava.
कपर्दी व्युप्तकेशश्च सहस्रक्षस्तथापरः
Kapardī, Vyuptakeśa, and Sahasrakṣa, another as well.
