ललिताभक्तदेशांस्तु भूषयन्स्वस्य सम्पदा
He adorns the lands of Lalita's devotees with his own wealth.
वर्तते सततं देवीकिङ्करौ जलदागमः
The arrival of clouds always serves as the attendant of the goddess.
तां कक्षां रक्षति श्रीमांल्लोकचित्तप्रसादनः
The illustrious one protects that region, pleasing the minds of the world.
अभ्यर्चयति साम्राज्ञीं श्रीकामेश्वरयोषितम्
He worships the Empress, the beloved of Śrī Kāmeśvara.
सदा प्रसन्नवदनो ललिताप्रियकिङ्करः
Always with a cheerful face, he is the beloved servant of Lalita.
पारिजातस्य वाटीं तु रक्षति ज्वलनार्दनः
The destroyer of fire protects the grove of pārijāta trees.
कदम्बवनवाट्यास्तु रक्षकः शिशिराकृतिः
The guardian of the kadamba forest grove has a cool form.
सा कक्ष्या तेन सर्वत्र शीशिरीकृतभूतला
By him, that region everywhere is made cool upon the earth.
ताभ्यां सहार्चयत्यंबां ललितां विश्वपावनीम्
Together with those two, he worships Ambā Lalita, purifier of the universe.
प्रथमोद्यानपालस्तु महाकालो मया श्रितः
The first guardian of the garden is Mahākāla, whom I have approached.
पालकत्वं श्रुतं त्वत्तश्चक्रदेव्यस्तु न श्रुताः
The role of the guardians has been heard from you, but the goddesses of the wheel have not been described.
क्रमेण ब्रूहि भगवन्सर्वज्ञो ऽसि यतो महान्
O venerable one, you are all-knowing and great; therefore, tell me about them in order.
आकर्णय मुनिश्रेष्ट तत्तच्चक्रस्थदेवताः
Listen, O best of sages, to the deities who reside in each of those wheels.
षोडशारं सरोजं च दशारद्वितयं पुनः
There is a sixteen-petaled lotus and two ten-petaled ones as well.
तन्मध्ये बिन्दुचक्रस्थो वसन्तर्तुर्महाद्युति
In the midst of that, within the bindu-chakra, is the radiant goddess of the spring season.
उभाभ्यां निजहस्ताभ्यामुभयोस्तनमेककम्
With both her own hands, she holds one breast of each of the two.
सपुष्पमदिरापूर्मचषकं पिशितं वहन्
She carries a cup filled with flower-wine and meat.
अङ्कस्थितं तु विज्ञेयं शक्तयो ऽन्याः समीपगाः
She is to be known as seated on a lap, with other shaktis nearby.
मधुशुक्लप्रथमिका मधुशुक्लद्वितीयिका
There are Madhuśukla the first, and Madhuśukla the second.
मधुशुक्ला पञ्चमी च मधुशुक्ला च षष्ठिका
There is Madhuśukla the fifth, and Madhuśukla the sixth.
नवमी मधुशुक्ला च दशमी मधुशुक्लिका
There is Madhuśukla the ninth, and Madhuśukla the tenth.
मधुशुक्लत्रयोदश्यां मधुशुक्ला चतुर्दशी
On the thirteenth day of Madhuśukla, and Madhuśukla the fourteenth.
मधुकृष्णा द्वितीया च तृतीया मधुकृष्णिका
There is Madhukṛṣṇā the second, and Madhukṛṣṇikā the third.
षष्टी तु मधुकृष्णा स्यात्सप्तमी मधुकृष्मतः
The sixth is Madhukṛṣṇā, and the seventh is Madhukṛṣmatī.
दशमी मधुकृष्णा च विन्ध्यदर्पनिषूदन
The tenth is Madhukṛṣṇā, O subduer of Vindhya's pride.
मधुकृष्णत्रयोदश्या मधुकृष्णचतुर्दशी
On the thirteenth day of Madhukṛṣṇa, and Madhukṛṣṇa the fourteenth.
एवमेव प्रकारेण माधवाख्यो परिस्थिताः
In this manner, those called Mādhavā are established.
मिलित्वा षष्टिसंख्यास्तु ख्याता वासन्तशक्तयः
Having come together, the Vāsanta shaktis are known to be sixty in number.
वासन्तचक्रराजस्य सप्तावरणभूमयः
The seven enclosure realms of the sovereign of the Vāsanta Cakra—
विभज्य चार्चनीयाः स्युस्तत्तन्मन्त्रैस्तु साधकैः
—are to be separately worshipped by practitioners with the respective mantras.
