तस्मादस्त्रात्समुद्भूता बहवो नृपदानवाः
From that weapon arose many kings and demons.
पैण्ड्रको वासुदेवश्च रुक्मी डिंभकहंसकौ
Paindraka, Vasudeva, Rukmi, Dimbhaka, and Hamsa,
कंसश्चाणूरमल्लश्च मुष्टिकोत्पलशेखरौ
Kamsa, Chanura the wrestler, Mushtika, and Utpala-shekhara,
पूतना शकटश्चैव तृणावर्तादयो ऽसुराः
Putana, Shakata, and Trinavarta and other demons,
अनेके सह सेनाभिरुत्थिताः शस्त्रपाणयः
Many others arose with their armies, weapons in hand.
श्रीदेवीवामहस्ताब्जानामिकानखसंभवः
Born from the nail of the ring finger of the lotus-hand of the blessed goddess,
वासुदेवो द्वितीयस्तु संकर्षण इति स्मृतः
The second Vasudeva is remembered as Sankarshana.
तानशेषान्दुराचारान्भूमभोरप्रवर्तकान्
All those wicked ones, instigators of evil on earth,
नाशयामासुरुर्वीशवेषच्छन्नान्महासुरान्
They destroyed the great demons, disguised in human form.
धर्मविप्लावकं घोरं कल्यस्त्रं सममुञ्चत
He released the dreadful weapon that brings the ruin of righteousness.
किराताः शबरा हूणा यवनाः पापवृत्तयः
The Kirātas, Śabaras, Hūṇas, and Yavanas are those of sinful conduct.
ललिताशक्तिसैन्यानि भूयोभूयो व्यमर्दयन्
They repeatedly crushed the armies empowered by Lalitā.
कनिष्ठिकानखोद्भूतः कल्किर्नाम जनार्दनः
Kalki, named Janārdana, arose from the nail of the little finger.
तस्यैव ध्वनिना सर्वे वज्रनिष्पेषबन्धुना
By the sound of his thunderous, crushing weapon, all were struck.
दशावतारनाथास्ते कृत्वेदं कर्म दुष्करम्
Those lords of the ten incarnations accomplished this difficult deed.
ललितांबानियुक्तास्ते वैकुण्ठाय प्रतस्थिरे
Joined by Lalitā, they set forth for Vaikuṇṭha.
महामोहास्त्रमसृजच्छक्तयस्तेन मूर्छिताः
The powers, struck by the great delusion weapon, became unconscious.
अस्तशैलङ्गभस्तीशो गन्तुमारभतारुणः
The lord of the western mountain began to depart, glowing like the sun.
सर्वा अक्षौहिणीस्तस्य भस्मसादकरोद्रणे
All his divisions were reduced to ashes in the battlefield.
चत्वारिंशच्चमूनाथान्महाराज्ञी व्यमर्दयत्
He defeated forty commanders of armies and great kings.
क्रोधेन प्रज्वलन्तं च जगद्विप्लवकारिणम्
Burning with anger, he caused upheaval in the world.
गतासुमकरोन्माता ललिता परमेश्वरी
Lalitā, the supreme goddess, made him lifeless and insane.
सस्त्रीकं च सबालं च सगोष्ठं धनधान्यकम्
With his wives, children, herds, wealth, and grain.
भण्डस्य संक्षयेणासीत्त्रैलोक्यं हर्षनर्तितम्
With the destruction of Bhaṇḍa, the three worlds danced with joy.
कामेश्वरी त्रिजगतां जननी बभासे विद्योतमानविभवा विज्यश्रियाढ्या
Kāmeśvarī, mother of the three worlds, shone forth, radiant with victorious glory and abundant wealth.
अस्तं गते सवितरि प्रथितप्रभावा श्रीदेवता शिबिरमात्मन आनिनाय
When the sun had set, the illustrious goddess led her retinue to the camp.
नाशं प्रयान्ति कदनानि दृताष्टसिद्धेर्भुक्तिश्च मुक्तिरपि वर्तत एव हस्ते
Battles cease; for one who has attained the eight powers, enjoyment and liberation are both present in hand.
पठन्ति पुण्येषु दिनेषु ये नरा भजन्ति ते भाग्यसमृद्धिमुत्तमाम्
Those men who recite on auspicious days and worship attain supreme prosperity and fortune.
विक्रमो ललितादेव्या विशिष्टो वर्णितस्त्वया
O Lalita, your valor has been described by you as exceptional.
श्रुता सा महतीशक्तिर्मन्त्रिणीदण्डनाथयोः
That great power of hers, belonging to the minister and the commander, has been heard.
