शक्तयो भयविभ्रष्टान्यायुधानि पुनर्दधुः

प्रावहच्छोणितनदी सेनयोर्युध्यमानयोः
A river of blood flowed between the two armies as they fought.
प्रहरद्वयपर्यन्तं सेनयोरुभयोरपि
For the duration of two attacks, in both armies.
अस्त्रप्रत्यस्त्रसंक्षोभैस्तुमुलीकृतदिक्तटः
By the clash of weapons and counter-weapons, the quarters were made tumultuous.
विमुक्तैर्विशिशैर्भीमैराहवे प्राणहारिभिः
With released, terrible arrows in battle, taking lives.
