Then a battle commenced, with exceedingly fierce valor.

That battle which then arose was coveted even by gods and demons.

The attendants, moving about, informed the great queen.
When they became spectators, they were seized by thirst alone.

She appeared as if a separate, shining orb to each one.
Her face, flushed with anger, resembled a red lotus.
With many kinds of words of praise from the minister and the chief of justice—
On the second day of battle, she fought throughout the field.
By releasing counter-weapons, she shattered all of them.
In an instant, she reduced the army of two hundred akṣauhiṇīs to ashes.
Those warriors, with their heavy bows drawn, fell with a single gesture.
At once, the maiden released thirty arrows.

Alas, my eyes' nectar, alas, those who increased my family!
Alas, the charmers of all divine women, the enchanters of their hearts!
How is it that, abandoning their father, they have now found happiness?
My homes are empty, my royal assembly is empty as well.
How did that wicked woman slay them all at once in battle?
From this point, when the family is diminished, both daring deeds and pleasures come to an end.
Today, because of you, this destruction has arisen; therefore, I am lost.
