There, the soldiers of Śakti were thrown into confusion by their agitation.
A boon was granted to them by the radiant one, pleased by their austerity.
I am satisfied; may auspiciousness be yours. You may choose a boon.
They earnestly requested a formidable boon of this kind.
By your dreadful brilliance, may you burn those who oppose us.
Then, O Lord, may all within the range of your gaze become motionless.
The soldiers who resist will have their weapons frozen.
Our enemies, rendered motionless, will be easily slain by us.
By the boon granted to them, those arrogant Madhus fought in that battle.
Their powers, with their weapons rendered motionless, became futile and lost their vigor.
The weapons and missiles were restrained, and the powers could not exert themselves.
Overcome and sighing, the powers remained quietly subdued.
The Daityas, following their own leaders’ commands, crushed the army of powers.
They were not shaken by the arrows of those whose weapons shone like thunderbolts and clubs.
In battle, they shone forth like flourishing creepers of Kankola with fresh leaves.
All the powers cried out, their own weapons having been paralyzed by those means.
Then the goddess Tiraskaraṇikā arose on the battlefield.
The great Māyā, mounting up, granted fearlessness to the powers.
She was shaded dark, covered in gloom, riding a horse of dark hue.
Roaring like a lion, she rained arrows resembling serpents.
The Daityas could not withstand the arrows released by the bewildering missile.
Those wicked ones, like masses of clouds, became extremely enraged.
She released the great missile called Andha among the hosts of her enemies.
By the Andha missile, their own eyes became as if covered and blinded.
By the rising Andha arrow, their sight was destroyed.
Because they could not see her, the paralysis of their weapons came to an end.
They made ready for battle, intent on destroying the Daityas.
By employing the proper means, they became greatly pleased and engaged in combat.
It is fitting that these wicked ones among mortals have been cast aside.
By you, with unwavering vision, the host of Daityas is being subdued.
