तत्सत्त्वेनाविद्यमानं स्त्रीकदम्बकमात्मनः
Because of that lack of strength, the multitude of women in your own ranks is insignificant.
अथ वा भव दुक्तेन न्यायेनास्तु महद्बलम्
Or else, let there be great power for you, as is proper according to reason.
त्रैलोक्योल्लङ्घिमहिमा भण्डः केन विजीयते
Who can conquer the might of Bhaṇḍa, whose greatness surpasses the three worlds?
श्वसितुं चापि पटवो न कदाचन नाकिनः
Even the skilled gods are never able to breathe freely.
केचिद्दिगन्तकोणेषु केचित्कुञ्जेषुभूभृताम्
Some are at the corners of the horizon, some in the groves of the mountains.
भ्रष्टाधिकाराः पशवश्छन्नवेषाश्चरन्ति ते
Those deprived of authority, disguised as beasts, wander about.
अबला न चिरोत्पन्ना तेनैषा दर्पमश्नुते
The weak have not arisen for long, and thus she attains arrogance.
विनाशमनुधावन्ति कार्याकार्यविमोहिताः
They pursue destruction, bewildered about what should and should not be done.
यथा महोरगाः सिद्धाः साध्या वा युद्धदुर्मदाः
Just as the great serpents, the Siddhas, or the Sādhyas are reckless in battle,
अन्ये वा हरितां नाथास्तान्संपेष्टुमहं पटुः
Or as the lords of the horses, I, skilled, crush them.
पक्वकर्करिकापेषमवपेक्ष्यति वैरिणः
He will regard the crushing of ripe gourds as the destruction of enemies.
वज्रदन्तो वज्रमुखो वज्रलोमा बलाहकः
Vajradanta, Vajramukha, Vajralomā, and Balāhaka,
करालाक्षः कर्कटको मदनो दीर्घजिह्वकः
Karālākṣa, Karkaṭaka, Madana, and Dīrghajihvaka,
पुल्कसः पुण्ड३केतुश्च चण्डबाहुश्च कुक्कुरः
Pulkasa, Puṇḍa3ketu, Caṇḍabāhu, and Kukkura,
चतुर्गुप्तश्चतुर्बाहुश्चकाराक्षश्चतुःशिराः
Caturgupta, Caturbāhu, Cakārākṣa, and Catuḥśirā,
मखशत्रुर्मखास्कन्दी सिंहघोषः शिरालकः
Makhaśatru, Makhāskandī, Siṃhaghoṣa, and Śirālaka,
गुहाक्षो गण्डगल्लश्च चण्डधर्मो यमान्तकः
Guhākṣa, Gaṇḍagalla, Caṇḍadharma, and Yamāntaka,
स्वर्गशत्रुः स्वर्गबलो दुर्गाख्यः स्वर्गकण्टकः
Svargaśatru, Svargabala, Durgākhya, and Svargakaṇṭaka,
पुरुषेणो विषेणश्च कुन्तिषेणः परूषकः
Puruṣeṇa, Viṣeṇa, Kuntiṣeṇa, and Parūṣaka,
कोल्लाटः कुजिलाश्वश्च दासेरो बभ्रुवाहनः
Kollāṭa, Kujilāśva, Dāsera, and Babhruvāhana.
महामहो महादंष्ट्रो दुर्गतिः स्वर्गमेजयः
Greatly fierce, with enormous fangs, bringer of misfortune, conqueror of heaven—
दुःशठो दुर्विनीतश्च छिन्नकर्णश्च मूषकः
Wicked, undisciplined, with a severed ear, and mouse-like—
कुम्भोत्कचः कुम्भनासः कुम्भग्रीवो घटोदरः
Pot-bellied, pot-nosed, pot-necked, with a jar-like belly—
पूतिदन्तः पूतिचक्षुः पूत्यास्यः पूतिमेहनः
With foul teeth, foul eyes, foul mouth, and foul genitals—
हिरण्याक्ष समाश्चैव मम पुत्रा महाबलाः
And those equal to Hiraṇyākṣa, my sons of great might—
सेनान्यो मे मदोदुवृत्ता मम पुत्रैरनुद्रुताः
My generals, intoxicated with pride, pursued by my sons—
भस्मशेषा भवेयुस्तै हा हन्त किमुताबला
By them, only ashes would remain; alas, what could the weak do?
महामायाविनोदाश्च कुप्युस्ते भस्मसाद्बलम्
And those masters of great illusion, when enraged, reduce armies to ashes.
इत्यक्त्वा भण्डदैत्येन्द्रः समुत्थाय नृपासनात्
Having spoken thus, the lord of the Daityas rose from the royal throne.
उत्तिष्ठ रे बलं सर्वं संनाहय समन्ततः
Arise! Muster all the forces; prepare them on every side.
