तस्यैव पर्वणो ऽधस्ताद्दण्डनाथासमत्विषः
Just below that peak are the Dandanāthas, equal in brilliance,
शम्याः क्रोडाननाश्चन्द्ररेखोत्तंसितकुन्तलाः
With nooses, boar-like faces, and hair raised in a crescent shape,
ललिताद्रोहिणां श्यामाद्रोहिणां स्वामिनीद्रुहाम्
Hostile to Lalitā, to Rohiṇī, and to the mistresses of Rohiṇī,
निजभक्तद्रोहकृता मन्त्रमालाविभूषणाः
Adorned with garlands of mantras, they commit acts of betrayal against their own devotees,
अखण्डरक्तविच्छर्दैर्बिभ्रत्यो वक्षसि क्रजः
Their breasts are adorned with streams of unbroken blood.
सहस्रं देवताः प्रोक्ताः सेवमानाः किटीश्वरीम्
A thousand deities are said to serve the Lady of Insects.
सहस्रनामाध्याये तु वक्ष्यन्ते नाधुना पुनः
In the chapter of a thousand names they are described, but not now again.
वाहनं कृष्णसारङ्गो दण्डिन्याः समये स्थितः
The black antelope stands as the vehicle of Daṇḍin at the appointed time.
क्रोशप्रमाणापादश्च सदा चोद्धृतवालधिः
Its foot measures a krośa, and its tail is always raised.
हसन्मारुतवाहस्य हरिणस्य पराक्रमम्
Smiling, it bears the wind, displaying the prowess of the deer.
किरिचक्ररथेन्द्रस्य स्थितस्तत्रैव पर्वणि
There, at the festival, stands the lord of chariots with bow and discus.
माणिक्यगिरिवच्छोणं हस्ते पिशितपिण्डकम्
In her hand is a lump of flesh, red as a ruby mountain.
मदशक्त्या समाश्लिष्टा धृतरक्तसरोजया
Embraced by the power of intoxication, she holds a blood-red lotus.
युद्धस्वेद मनुप्राप्ताः शक्तयः स्युः पिपासिताः
The weapons, moistened by the sweat of battle, become thirsty.
रणे खेदं देवतानामञ्जसापाकरिष्यति
She will swiftly remove the fatigue of the gods in battle.
तदा श्रोष्यसि संग्रामे कथ्यमानं मया मुदा
Then, in the conflict, you will joyfully hear me narrate it.
उपर्यपि कृतावासा हेतुकाद्या दश स्मृताः
Above, reside ten called Hetuka and others.
उद्दीप्तायुत तेजोभिर्द्दिवा दीपितभानवः
Blazing with ten thousand energies, they shine like the sun by day.
अत्युदग्रप्रकृतयो रददष्टौष्ठसंपुटाः
Of exceedingly fierce nature, their lips pressed together, bitten by their teeth.
हेतुकस्त्रिपुरारिश्च तृतीयश्चाग्निभैरवः
Hetuka, the enemy of Tripura, and the third, Agni-Bhairava.
भीमरूपो हाटकेशस्तथैवाचलनामवान्
Of terrible form, golden-haired, and also named Mountain.
तस्यैव किरिचक्रस्य वर्तन्ते पर्वसीमनि
They dwell there, at the festival, around that lord of chariots.
जृंभिण्याद्यचलेन्द्रान्ताः प्रोक्तास्त्रैलोक्यपावनाः
From Jṛmbhiṇī to the lord of mountains, these have been declared as the purifiers of the three worlds.
दानवा मारयिष्यन्ते पास्यन्ते रक्तवृष्टयः
The Dānavas will be slain, and rains of blood will be drunk.
किरिचक्रं दण्डनेत्र्या रथरत्नं चचाल ह
The chariot-jewel, with its wheel of spears and the rod of punishment, began to move.
यत्र गेयरथस्तत्र किरिचक्ररथोत्तमः
Wherever the Geya chariot is, there is the supreme chariot with the wheel of spears.
शक्तिसेनासहस्रस्यान्तश्चचार तदा शुभम्
At that time, within the thousandfold army of Śakti, it moved auspiciously.
चचाल वसुधा सर्वा तच्चक्ररवदारिता
The entire earth trembled, split open by that wheel.
षट्सारथय उद्दण्डपाशग्रहणकोविदाः
There are six charioteers, skilled in seizing the fierce noose.
इति देवी प्रथमतस्तथा त्रिपुरभैरवी
Thus, the goddess first, and likewise Tripurabhairavī.
