असिताङ्गप्रभृतयो भैरवाः शस्त्रभीषणाः
The Bhairavas, beginning with Asitāṅga, were terrifying with their weapons.
असिताङ्गो रुरुश्चण्डः क्रोध उन्मत्तभैरवः
Asitāṅga, Ruru, Caṇḍa, Krodha, and Unmattabhairava,
अथ गीतिरथेन्द्रस्य सप्तमं पर्व संश्रिताः
Then, at the seventh stage, the lords of the chariot divisions assembled.
महती सिद्धलक्ष्मीश्च शोणा बाणधनुर्धराः
Great Siddhalakṣmī, Śoṇā, and the bow-armed Bāṇa appeared.
दुर्गांबा बटुकश्चेंव सर्वे ते शस्त्रपाणयः
Durgāmbā and Baṭuka also, all of them bearing weapons.
शङ्खः पद्मो निधिश्चैव ते सर्वे शस्त्रपाणयः
Śaṅkha, Padma, and Nidhi too—all these held weapons in their hands.
शक्रादयश्च विष्म्वन्ता दश दिक्चक्रनायकाः
Indra and the others, up to Viṣṇu, the ten guardians of the directions,
वज्रे शक्तिं कालदण्डमकिं पाशं ध्वजं तथा
With thunderbolt, spear, staff of Time, mace, noose, and banner,
सेवन्ते मन्त्रिनाथां तां नित्यं भक्तिसमन्विताः
Serve that Lady of the Ministers always, with devotion.
मन्त्रिनाथाश्रयद्वारा ललिताज्ञापनोत्सुकाः
Through the gateway of the Lady of the Ministers, they are eager to receive Lalitā’s commands.
सर्वेषां चैव देवानां मन्त्रिणी द्वारतः कृता
For all the gods, the Minister is established as the gatekeeper.
राक्षी विज्ञापना चेति प्रधानद्वारतः कृता
Rākṣī and Vijñāpanā are set as chief gatekeepers.
अन्यथा कथमेतेषां सामर्थ्यं ज्वलितौजसः
Otherwise, how could these beings possess such power and blazing energy?
सा हि संगीतविद्येति श्रीदेव्या अतिवल्लभा
That is indeed the science of music, exceedingly dear to Shri Devi.
श्रीदेव्याःशक्तिसाम्राज्ये सर्वकर्माणि मन्त्रिणी
Within the dominion of Shri Devi's power, the minister performs all actions.
तस्याः प्रधानभूतायाः सेवामेव वितन्वते
They devote themselves solely to the service of her, who is foremost among them.
पर्वस्थितानां देवीनां नामानि कथितान्यलम्
The names of the goddesses present at the festival have been fully recounted.
प्रोक्तानि गेयचक्रस्य पर्वदेव्याश्च कीर्तिताः
The names spoken belong to the circle of song and to the festival goddesses.
सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तास्ते स्युर्विजयिनो नराः
Those men become victorious and freed from all sin.
देवताश्च शृणु प्राज्ञ नाम यच्छृण्वतां जयः
Hear also, O wise one, the names of the deities; victory comes to those who listen.
सा तत्र जगदुद्दण्डकण्टकव्रातघस्मरी
There, she is the devourer of the host of thorns that afflict the world.
नानाविधाभिर्ज्वालाभिर्नर्तयन्ती जयश्रियम्
She dances with various kinds of flames, displaying the glory of victory.
दंष्ट्राबालमृगाङ्कांशुविभावनविभावरी
Her tusks shine like the rays of the young moon, illuminating the night.
पोत्रिणी पुत्रिताशेषविश्वावर्तकदंबिका
She is the nurturer, the universal mother, the one who turns all worlds, the mighty one.
उत्फुल्लदाडिमीप्रख्यं सर्वदानवमर्दनाः
Resembling a blossoming pomegranate, she crushes all demons.
ज्वलन्माणिक्यवलयैर्बि भ्राणाः पाणिपल्लवैः
With hands adorned by blazing ruby bracelets, she shines forth.
दहन्त्य इव निःशङ्कं सेवन्ते सूकराननाम्
They serve the goddess with the face of a boar, as if fearlessly burning.
अन्धिन्याद्याः पञ्च देव्यो देवीयन्त्रकृतास्पदाः
The five goddesses, beginning with Andhini, are established by the goddess's yantra.
ज्वाला इव तु कल्पग्नेरङ्गनावेषमाश्रिताः
Like flames of the cosmic fire, they assume the form of women.
लिलिक्षमाणा जिह्वाभिर्लेलिहानाभिरुज्ज्वलाः
Desiring to lick, they shine brightly, licking with their tongues.
