कामेशी भगमाला च नित्यक्लिन्ना तथैव च
Kameshī, Bhagamālā, and likewise Nityaklinnā,
दती च त्वरिता देवी नवमी कुलसुन्दरी
Ditī, Tvaritā Devī, Navamī, and Kulasundarī,
ज्वालामालिनिकाचित्रे दश पञ्च च कीर्तिताः
Jvālāmālinikā and Citrā—these ten and five are proclaimed.
दुष्टं भण्डासुरं जेतुं निर्ययौ परमेश्वरी
To conquer the wicked Bhandasura, the Supreme Goddess set forth.
सप्तपर्वाणि चोक्तानि तत्र देव्याश्च ताः शृणु
Seven divisions are also mentioned there; listen to those of the Goddess.
संगीतयोगिनी प्रोक्ता श्रीदेव्या अतिवल्लभा
Sangītayoginī is said to be most beloved of the glorious Goddess.
अथ द्वितीयपर्वस्था गेयचक्रे रथोत्तमे
Now, in the second division, in the supreme chariot of the Geya-cakra,
तमालश्यामलाकारा दानवोन्मूलनक्षमाः
Dark as tamāla trees in form, capable of uprooting the demons,
द्राविणी शोषिणी चैव बन्धिनी मोहिनी तथा
Drāviṇī, Śoṣiṇī, Bandhinī, and likewise Mohinī,
तत्र पर्वण्यधस्तात्तु वर्तमाना महौजसः
There, beneath that division, dwell those of great energy.
मनोभवः पञ्चमः स्यादेते त्रैलोक्यमोहनाः
Manobhava is the fifth; these are the enchanters of the three worlds.
कवचच्छन्नसर्वाङ्गाः पलाशप्रसवत्विषः
Their bodies are covered in armor, shining with the radiance of palāśa blossoms.
जेयचक्ररथेन्द्रस्य चतुर्थं पर्व संश्रिताः
They have taken refuge in the fourth division of the lord of the Jeya-cakra chariot.
तत्र पर्वण्यधस्ताच्च लक्ष्मीश्चैव सरस्वती
There, beneath that division, are also Lakṣmī and Sarasvatī.
एताश्चक्रोधरक्ताक्ष्यो दैत्यं हन्तुं महाबलम्
These, with eyes reddened by anger, came to slay the mighty demon.
पञ्चमं पर्व संप्राप्ता वामाद्याः षोडशापराः
At the fifth stage, the first group of Vāmā and the other sixteen arrived.
वामा ज्येष्टा च रौद्री च शान्तिः श्रद्धा सरस्वती
Vāmā, Jyeṣṭhā, Raudrī, Śānti, Śraddhā, and Sarasvatī,
तथा प्रमाथिनी चाश्वसिनी वीचिस्तथैव च
Also Pramāthinī, Āśvasinī, and likewise Vīci,
एतास्तु कुरविन्दाभा जगत्क्षोभणलंपटाः
These, shining like red coral, were eager to agitate the worlds.
वज्रदण्डौ शतघ्नीं च संबिभ्राणा भुशुण्डिकाः
They bore thunderbolts, clubs, and maces called bhuśuṇḍikās.
असिताङ्गप्रभृतयो भैरवाः शस्त्रभीषणाः
The Bhairavas, beginning with Asitāṅga, were terrifying with their weapons.
असिताङ्गो रुरुश्चण्डः क्रोध उन्मत्तभैरवः
Asitāṅga, Ruru, Caṇḍa, Krodha, and Unmattabhairava,
अथ गीतिरथेन्द्रस्य सप्तमं पर्व संश्रिताः
Then, at the seventh stage, the lords of the chariot divisions assembled.
महती सिद्धलक्ष्मीश्च शोणा बाणधनुर्धराः
Great Siddhalakṣmī, Śoṇā, and the bow-armed Bāṇa appeared.
दुर्गांबा बटुकश्चेंव सर्वे ते शस्त्रपाणयः
Durgāmbā and Baṭuka also, all of them bearing weapons.
शङ्खः पद्मो निधिश्चैव ते सर्वे शस्त्रपाणयः
Śaṅkha, Padma, and Nidhi too—all these held weapons in their hands.
शक्रादयश्च विष्म्वन्ता दश दिक्चक्रनायकाः
Indra and the others, up to Viṣṇu, the ten guardians of the directions,
वज्रे शक्तिं कालदण्डमकिं पाशं ध्वजं तथा
With thunderbolt, spear, staff of Time, mace, noose, and banner,
सेवन्ते मन्त्रिनाथां तां नित्यं भक्तिसमन्विताः
Serve that Lady of the Ministers always, with devotion.
मन्त्रिनाथाश्रयद्वारा ललिताज्ञापनोत्सुकाः
Through the gateway of the Lady of the Ministers, they are eager to receive Lalitā’s commands.
