मन्त्रनाथां पुरस्कृत्य संप्रचेलुः पुरः पुरः
Led by the mistress of mantras, they advanced, one after another—
बालार्कवर्णकवचा मदालोलविलोचना
Clad in armor shining like the rising sun, their eyes intoxicated with pride—
प्रेक्षयन्ती कटाक्षौधौः किञ्चिद्भ्रूवल्लिताण्डवैः
Casting sidelong glances, with brows slightly arched in dance—
पिच्छत्रिकोणच्छत्रेण बिरुदेन महीयसा
With a peacock-feathered, three-cornered parasol and a great banner—
निर्जगाम घनश्यामश्यामला मन्त्रनायिका
The dark-hued leader of mantras emerged, radiant in deep blue—
तानि षोडशनामानि शृणु कुंभसमुद्भव
Hear now, O one born from the jar, these sixteen names—
मन्त्रिणी सचिवेशी च प्रधानेशी शुकप्रिया
She is the minister, the chief counselor, the foremost leader, and beloved of the parrot.
निपप्रिया कदंबेशी कदंबवनवासिनी
She is dear to Nipa, sovereign of the Kadamba trees, and dweller in the Kadamba grove.
तस्य त्रैलोक्यमखिलं हस्ते तिष्ठत्यसंशयम्
All the three worlds, without doubt, remain in her hand.
तत्रतत्र गताशङ्कं शत्रुसैन्यं पतत्यलम्
Wherever she goes, the enemy's army falls completely, losing all hope.
शक्तीनामपि चर्चा या सा सर्वत्र जयप्रदा
The very mention of her powers everywhere brings victory.
निर्जगाम धनुर्वेदो वहन्सज्जंशरासनम्
The science of archery emerged, carrying a readied bow and arrows.
नमस्कृत्य प्रधानेशीमिदमाह स भक्तिमान्
Having bowed to the chief leader, he, full of devotion, spoke this.
अतस्तव मया साह्यं कर्तव्यं मन्त्रिनायिके
Therefore, I must assist you, O leader of ministers.
गृहाण जगतामंब दानवानां निबर्हणम्
O Mother of the worlds, accept the destruction of the Dānavas.
गृहाण दैत्यनाशाय ममानुग्रहहेतवे
Accept this for the destruction of the Daityas and for granting me your favor.
अर्पितांश्चापतूणीराञ्जग्राह प्रियकप्रिया
The beloved of Priyaka took up the quivers that were offered.
विस्फारं जनयामास मौर्वीमुद्वाद्य भूरिशः
Drawing the bowstring many times, she produced a resounding twang.
नाकालयानां च मनोन यनानन्दसंपदा
The minds of the celestial beings were filled with joy and abundance.
शुकं वीणां च सहसा वहन्त्यौ परिचेरतुः
Carrying the parrot and the vīṇā, the two attendants served her at once.
धारयन्ती घनश्यामा चकारातिमनोहरम्
The dark-complexioned one, bearing them, appeared exceedingly enchanting.
कदंबिनीव रुरुचे कदम्बच्छत्रकार्मुका
She shone like Kadambinī, with a bow adorned with Kadamba blossoms.
उल्लसन्दक्षिणे पाणौ विललास शिलीमुखः
A sharp arrow gleamed in her radiant right hand.
तद्वच्छ्यामलशोभाढ्या देव्यो बाणधनुर्धराः
Likewise, the goddesses, radiant with dark beauty, held bows and arrows.
आपूरयन्त्यः ककुभं कलैः किलिकिलारवैः
Filling the quarters with the sounds of their melodious, tinkling voices.
कलनिक्वणद्वलयमैक्ष्वं धनुर्दधती प्रदीप्तकुसुमेषुपञ्चका
She, adorned with bracelets softly chiming, held the bow of Ikshvaku, with five blazing flower-arrows.
किरती दिशासु वदनस्य कान्तिभिः सृजतीव चन्द्रमयमभ्रमण्डलम्

धवलातपत्रवलयेन भासुरा शशिमण्डलस्य सखितामुपेयुषा
Brilliant with a circle of white parasols, she attained the companionship of the moon's disk.
नवचन्द्रिकालहरिकान्तिकन्दलीचतुरेण चामरचतुष्टयेन च
With four fly-whisks, skillfully shining with the fresh luster of moonlight and green hues.
संगीतवाद्यरचनाभिरथामरीणां संस्तूयमानविभवा विशदप्रकाशा
Praised by the celestial women with clear voices, through arrangements of song and instrumental music.
