चिन्तामणिमयीं मालां कुबेरः प्रददौ तदा
Kubera then presented a garland fashioned from wish-fulfilling jewels.
गङ्गा च यमुना ताभ्यां चामरे चन्द्रभास्वरे
Gaṅgā and Yamunā gave them two fly-whisks, shining like the moon.
स्वानिस्वान्यायुधान्यस्यै प्रददुः परितोषिताः
Each, pleased, gave her their own distinctive weapons.
ददुर्वज्रोपमाकारान्सायुधान्सपरिच्छदान्
They gave weapons and attendants resembling thunderbolts.
अथाकरोद्विमानं च नाम्ना तु कुसुमाकरम्
Then he constructed a celestial chariot called Kusumākaram.
दिवि भुव्यन्तरिक्षे च कामगं सुसमृद्धिमत्
It could travel at will in heaven, on earth, and in the sky, and was exceedingly splendid.
तत्क्षणादेव नश्यन्ति मनोह्लादकरं शुभम्
At that very moment, things that delight the mind and are auspicious vanish.
चामख्याजनच्छत्रध्वजयष्टिमनोहरम्
With fly-whisks, umbrellas, banners, and staffs, all captivating to behold.
सेव्यमाना सुरगणैर्निर्गत्य नृपमन्दिरात्
Attended by hosts of gods, she departed from the king’s palace.
प्रतिहर्म्याग्रसंस्थाभिरप्सरोभिः सहस्रशः
With thousands of apsarases, arrayed as chief attendants.
तुष्यन्ती वीवीथिवीथीषु मन्दमन्दमथाययौ
Pleased, she moved gently along the avenues and streets.
अवरुह्य विमानग्रात्प्रविवेश महासभाम्
Descending from the celestial chariot, she entered the great assembly hall.
सर्वज्ञा साक्षिपातेन तत्तत्कामानपूरयत्
Omniscient, she fulfilled each desire by direct manifestation.
कामाक्षीति तदाभिख्यां ददौ कामेश्वरीति च
She was then given the names Kāmākṣī and Kāmeśvarī.
महार्हाणि च वस्तूनि दिव्यान्याभरणानि च
She received precious objects and divine ornaments.
प्रतिवेश्म ततस्तस्थुः पुरो देव्याजयाय ते
Then, before the goddess, they stood at each mansion to offer homage.
सर्वकामार्थसंयुक्ता हृष्यन्तः सार्वकालिकम्
They, endowed with all desired enjoyments and objects, rejoiced at all times.
अन्ये दिशामधीशास्तु सकला देवतागणाः
Other lords of the directions, along with all the hosts of deities,
महर्षयश्च मन्वाद्या वशिष्ठाद्यास्तपोधनाः
And the great sages beginning with the Manus, and Vasiṣṭha and others, rich in austerities,
दिवि भूम्यन्तरिक्षेषु ससंबाधं वसंति ये
Who dwell closely together in heaven, on earth, and in the mid-space,
ते सर्वे चाप्यसंबाधं निवसंति स्म तत्पुरे
All of them dwelt there in that city, without any crowding.
तोषयामास सततमनुरागेण भूयसा
She continually pleased them with ever-increasing affection.
राज्ञी दुदोहाभीष्टानि सर्वभूतलवासिनाम्
The queen granted the cherished desires of all who lived upon the earth.
दशवर्षसहस्राणि ययुः क्षण इवापरः
Ten thousand years passed by as if they were but a moment.
प्रणम्य परमां शक्तिं प्रोवाच विनयान्वितः
Having bowed to the supreme power, he spoke with great humility.
मदसद्भावसंकल्पविकल्पकलनात्मिका
You are the very essence of intoxication, existence, resolve, doubt, and imagination.
प्रवृत्तिस्तव कल्याणि साधूनां रक्षणाय हि
Your activity, O auspicious one, is indeed for the protection of the virtuous.
त्वयैकयैव जेतव्यो न शक्यस्त्वपरैः सुरैः
You alone must be conquered; you cannot be subdued by other gods.
त्वदाज्ञया गमिष्यन्ति स्वानिस्वानि पुराणि तु
By your command, they will return to their own ancient abodes.
स्वस्ववासनिवासाय प्रेषयामास चामरान्
She sent the attendants to their respective dwellings.
