नारदं प्रेषयित्वाशु तदुक्तं सततं स्मरन्
Having quickly sent Nārada, constantly remembering what was said,
पार्वतीसहितो विष्णुमाजगाम सविस्मयः
He came to Viṣṇu, accompanied by Pārvatī, filled with wonder.
भोगिभोगासनाद्विष्णुः समुत्थाय समागतः
Viṣṇu, rising from his seat upon the coils of the serpent, approached.
तं दृष्ट्वा शीघ्रमागत्य संपूज्यार्घ्यादितो मुदा
Seeing him arrive swiftly, he joyfully honored him with offerings and respect.
तदागमनकार्यं च पृष्टवान्विष्टरश्रवाः
He then asked, in detail, the purpose of his coming.
महायोगेश्वर श्रीमन्सर्वसौभाग्यसुन्दरम्
O glorious Lord of great yoga, embodiment of all auspicious beauty,
यद्रूपं भवतोपात्तं तन्मह्यं संप्रदर्शय
Show me the form you have assumed, O Lord, reveal it to me.
अवश्यं दर्शनीयं मे त्वं हि प्रार्थितकामधृक्
You must certainly be seen by me, for you fulfill the desires of those who seek you.
यद्ध्यानवैभवाल्लब्धं रूपमद्वैतमद्भुतम्
The form obtained through the greatness of meditation, unique and wondrous,
तथास्त्विति तिरो ऽधत्त महायोगेश्वरो हरिः
So be it, said Hari, the great lord of yoga, and concealed himself.
अदृष्टपूर्वमाराममभिरामं व्यलोकयत्
He beheld a delightful garden, never before seen.
चंपकस्तबकामोदसुरभीकृतदिक्तटम्
The borders of the directions were made fragrant by the scent of clusters of champaka flowers.
अशोकमण्डलीकाण्डसताण्डवशिखण्डिकम्
With the swinging crests of the branches of circles of aśoka trees,
पाटलोदारसौरभ्यपाटलीकुसुमोज्ज्वलम्
Radiant with pāṭalī blossoms, exuding the noble fragrance of pāṭala flowers.
पर्यन्तदीर्घिकादीर्घपङ्कजश्रीपरिष्कृतम्
Adorned with the splendor of lotuses stretching along the banks of long ponds,
सन्तानप्रसवामोदसन्तानाधिकवासितम्
Fragrant with the scent of sandalwood and filled with the sweet aroma of blossoming trees,
पारिजाततरोर्मूले कान्ता काचिददृश्यत
At the foot of a pārijāta tree, a beautiful woman was seen.
आकृष्टपद्मरागाभा चरणाब्जनखच्छदा
Her feet, covered by nails shining like red lotuses, resembled the glow of padmarāga gems.
कलनिःस्वनमञ्जीरपदपद्ममनोहरा
Her anklets chimed melodiously, enchanting with the beauty of her lotus-like feet.
करिशुण्डाकदलिकाकान्तितुल्योरुशोभिनी
Her thighs shone with the radiance of young plantain stems, rivaling the beauty of an elephant's trunk.
अलङ्कृतनितंबाढ्या जघनाभोगभासुरा
Her hips were adorned with ornaments, her waist radiant in its fullness.
नतनाभिमहावर्त्तत्रिवल्यूर्मिप्रभाझरा
Her navel was deep, with large whorls, and waves of three folds shone brilliantly.
अतिपीवरवक्षोजभारभङ्गुरमध्यभूः
Her middle was delicate, bent under the weight of her very full breasts.
सोर्मिकां गुलिमन्मृष्टशङ्खसुन्दरकन्धरा
Her neck was beautiful like a well-polished conch, adorned with gentle lines.
शुचिभिः पङ्क्तिभिः शुद्धैर्विद्यारूपैर्विभास्वरैः
She shone with pure, radiant rows of teeth, resembling forms of knowledge.
स्थूलमौक्तिकसन्नद्धनासाभरणभासुरा
Her nose was resplendent, adorned with a large pearl ornament.
अर्धेन्दुतुलिताफाले सम्यक्कॢप्तालकच्छटा
Her forehead, shaped like a half-moon, was perfectly framed by arranged locks of hair.
नवकर्पूरकस्तूरीरसामोदितवीटिका
She enjoyed betel leaves scented with fresh camphor and musk.
स्फुरत्कस्तूरितिलका नीलकुन्तलसंहतिः
A sparkling musk mark adorned her, and her hair was a mass of deep blue locks.
सीमन्तरेखाविन्यस्तसिंदूरश्रेणिभासुरा
She was radiant with a line of vermilion placed along the parting of her hair.
