All these certainly go to hell, destined to be the food of dogs.
Indeed, all who perform such actions dwell in hell.
Among them, the most terrible is cold in nature; beneath it is known as Tapah.
Beneath the earth, seven hells are described.
Of these, the first is Raurava, and the second is Mahāraurava.
The third is Kālasūtra, said to be filled with great serpents.
The sixth among them is called Loha, and the seventh is known as Avīci.
The most terrible, cold in nature, is beneath that, called the lowest Tapah.
In Avīci, there is no stable place; constant wandering is said to occur there.
Therefore, Loha is exceedingly dreadful, both because of the deeds and the suffering found there.
Marked by unrelenting pain, bondage, and slaughter, with no possibility of escape.
The utmost intensity of suffering arises in all these due to unrighteousness; and in the iron houses, the bodies of the inhabitants of hell are measured.
Among all of them, indeed, the extremity of suffering is said to be severe.
Among all of them, indeed, the extremity of suffering is said to be severe.
There, suffering is experienced again when karma is exhausted.
The gods and the stars are established both above and below.
Birth arises for the sake of enjoyment, according to the karma that accords with one's nature.
Thus, seeing all the hellish beings as well as the gods, with their various faces,
Therefore, above and below, there is no state of world or non-world.
Then, at that time, the Brahmins performing the sacrifice again addressed Vayu.
All the living beings who wander here in samsara,
Hearing those words of the sages, the Maruts spoke.
By the eye, indeed, the enumeration is made, O twice-born, but not at the end.
Now hear what has been designated by Brahma, that which is by number.
Earthly worms are as many as are produced in moist places.
All aquatic creatures, certainly, let that be understood with certainty.
Birds, too, should be known—all those of the world, entirely.
Cattle should be known as equal in number to them, and the four-footed worldly animals.
The bipeds, again, are reckoned as a thousandfold of those righteous ones.
That which is the thousandth part among the righteous ones is found in heaven.
