Then, as the donkey fell from the tops of the palms, many fruits were shaken down to the earth, like great winds bring down clouds.
Krishna and Balabhadra, with ease, likewise hurled the other donkey-demons, his kin, who had come there, onto the palm trees.
In a moment, the earth was adorned with ripe palm fruits and the bodies of the donkey-demons, making the sages shine all the more.
Then, in that Tāla forest, the cows, undisturbed, grazed happily on fresh grass, O twice-born, where once it had been forbidden.
With that donkey-demon and his brothers slain, the beautiful Tāla forest shone for all the cowherds and cowherd women.
Then the two sons of Vasudeva, filled with joy, shone forth—those great souls—like two young bulls with budding horns.
Tending the cows at a distance, calling them by name, the two, with herding ropes on their shoulders and garlands of forest flowers, moved about.
Adorned with garments dusted with gold and black powders, they resembled Indra’s weapons, appearing like white and dark clouds.
They wandered the earth, engaging in playful games with the perfected beings of the worlds, themselves the lords of all the world’s lords.
Delighting in human ways, honoring humanity, they wandered the forest, playing games suited to their human birth and nature.
Then those two mighty ones engaged in exercise there with swings, wrestling, and also by throwing stones.
Desiring to defeat them as they delighted together, the Asura named Pralamba came there, disguised in the attire of a cowherd.
He, the foremost of the Dānavas, entered fearlessly among them in human form, appearing as an ordinary man.
Seeking an opportunity between the two, he quickly considered to kill the son of Rohiṇī, while keeping Kṛṣṇa distracted.
Then, as part of their play, they all began a children's game called 'Hariṇa-krīḍana', leaping up in pairs together.
Govinda with Śrīdāmā, Bala with Pralamba, and the other cowherds with each other, all jumped in pairs.
Then Kṛṣṇa defeated Śrīdāmā, and the son of Rohiṇī defeated Pralamba; the other cowherds on Kṛṣṇa's side won, while the rest were defeated.
Those who were defeated carried the victors on their shoulders to the Banyan tree and then all returned to their places.
The Dānava swiftly lifted Saṃkarṣaṇa onto his shoulders and did not stop, but went off like a cloud with the moon.
Unable to carry him further, the foremost Dānava, out of anger, grew to an enormous size, like a rain cloud in the monsoon.
Saṃkarṣaṇa, seeing him with a form like a burning mountain, adorned with a garland, ornaments, and a splendid crown on his head,
Fierce, with eyes like cart wheels, shaking the earth with his footsteps, as he was being carried off, spoke these words to Kṛṣṇa:
"Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa! See, I am being carried away by this Daitya, who has taken the form of a cowherd but whose true shape is like a towering mountain."
"O slayer of Madhu, tell me what should be done now, for this evil-hearted one is rushing away with great speed."
Govinda, the great soul, knowing the measure of the strength and power of the son of Rohiṇī, replied to Rāma with a smile breaking upon his lips:
"Is this human nature truly being assumed by you? You, who are the innermost of all secrets, more secret than the most hidden, O all-pervading one."
"Remember, O Lord of all worlds, cause of causes, elder of causes, the one Self, who is the same in the world and in the single ocean."
"You and I, O soul of the universe, are truly the one cause of this world; for the sake of the world, we are manifest as two, though in essence one."
Recall your immeasurable self; conquer the demon within you. Taking up your human nature, act for the welfare of your kin.
Thus reminded by Krishna, the great soul, the Brahmins laughed, and mighty Balarama began to torment Pralamba.
