प्रतप्तहेमसंकाशं तरुणादित्यसंनिभम् पुरमध्ये हरेर् भाति मन्दिरं रत्नभूषितम्
In the center of Hari's city shines a temple adorned with jewels, radiant like refined gold and resembling the youthful sun.
अनेकशतसाहस्रैः पताकैः समलंकृतम् योजनायुतविस्तीर्णं हेमप्राकारवेष्टितम्
It is decorated with hundreds of thousands of flags, vast for tens of yojanas, and encircled by golden ramparts.
नानावर्णैर् ध्वजैश् चित्रैः कल्पितैः सुमनोहरैः विभाति शारदो यद्वन् नक्षत्रैः सह चन्द्रमाः
It gleams with various colored, beautifully crafted banners, delightful to behold, just as the moon shines among stars in autumn.
चतुर्द्वारं सुविस्तीर्णं कञ्चुकिभिः सुरक्षितम् पुरसप्तकसंयुक्तं महोत्सेकं मनोहरम्
With four wide gates, guarded by sentinels, joined to seven cities, grand and enchanting.
प्रथमं काञ्चनं तत्र द्वितीयं मरकतैर् युतम् इन्द्रनीलं तृतीयं तु महानीलं ततः परम्
The first city is golden, the second adorned with emeralds, the third is sapphire, and the fourth is great blue stone.
पुरं तु पञ्चमं दीप्तं पद्मरागमयं पुरम् षष्ठं वज्रमयं विप्रा वैदूर्यं सप्तमं पुरम्
The fifth city is brilliant, made of ruby; the sixth is made of diamond, O Brāhmaṇas, and the seventh city is of beryl.
नानारत्नमयैर् हेमप्रवालाङ्कुरभूषितैः स्तम्भैर् अद्भुतसंकाशैर् भाति तद् भवनं महत्
That great mansion shines, adorned with pillars made of various gems, gold, and coral sprouts, wondrous in appearance.
दृश्यन्ते तत्र सिद्धाश् च भासयन्ति दिशो दश पौर्णमास्यां सनक्षत्रो यथा भाति निशाकरः
There, perfected beings are seen, illuminating the ten directions, as the moon shines with stars on the full-moon night.
आरूढस् तत्र भगवान् सलक्ष्मीको जनार्दनः पीताम्बरधरः श्यामः श्रीवत्सलक्ष्मसंयुतः
There, Bhagavān Janārdana is enthroned with Lakṣmī, wearing yellow garments, dark-hued, marked with Śrīvatsa.
ज्वलत् सुदर्शनं चक्रं घोरं सर्वास्त्रनायकम् दधार दक्षिणे हस्ते सर्वतेजोमयं हरिः
Hari holds the blazing Sudarśana discus, fierce, master of all weapons, in his right hand, radiant with all brilliance.
कुन्देन्दुरजतप्रख्यं हारगोक्षीरसंनिभम् आदाय तं मुनिश्रेष्ठाः सव्यहस्तेन केशवः
Keśava, O best of sages, takes up with his left hand a necklace shining like jasmine, moon, and milk.
यस्य शब्देन सकलं संक्षोभं जायते जगत् विश्रुतं पाञ्चजन्येति सहस्रावर्तभूषितम्
By whose sound the entire world is shaken, renowned as Pāñcajanya, adorned with a thousand spirals.
दुष्कृतान्तकरीं रौद्रां दैत्यदानवनाशिनीम् ज्वलद्वह्निशिखाकारां दुःसहां त्रिदशैर् अपि
She is fierce, the destroyer of evil-doers, annihilator of demons and titans, blazing like tongues of fire, unbearable even for the gods.
कौमोदकीं गदां चासौ धृतवान् दक्षिणे करे वामे विस्फुरति ह्य् अस्य शार्ङ्गं सूर्यसमप्रभम्
He holds the Kaumodakī mace in his right hand, and in his left, his bow Śārṅga, shining with the brilliance of the sun, quivers.
शरैर् आदित्यसंकाशैर् ज्वालामालाकुलैर् वरैः यो ऽसौ संहरते देवस् त्रैलोक्यं सचराचरम्
With arrows radiant as the sun, wreathed in blazing flames, he destroys the worlds of gods, both moving and unmoving.
सर्वानन्दकरः श्रीमान् सर्वशास्त्रविशारदः सर्वलोकगुरुर् देवः सर्वैर् देवैर् नमस्कृतः
He brings joy to all, is resplendent, expert in all scriptures, the guru of all worlds, the god revered by all other gods.
सहस्रमूर्धा देवेशः सहस्रचरणेक्षणः सहस्राख्यः सहस्राङ्गः सहस्रभुजवान् प्रभुः
The lord of gods has a thousand heads, a thousand feet and eyes, called the Thousand-named, with a thousand limbs and a thousand mighty arms.
सिंहासनगतो देवः पद्मपत्त्रायतेक्षणः विद्युद्विस्पष्टसंकाशो जगन्नाथो जगद्गुरुः
The god sits upon a throne, his eyes wide as lotus petals, shining like lightning, the Lord and teacher of the universe.
परीतः सुरसिद्धैश् च गन्धर्वाप्सरसां गणैः यक्षविद्याधरैर् नागैर् मुनिसिद्धैः सचारणैः
He is surrounded by hosts of gods and siddhas, by bands of gandharvas and apsarases, by yakṣas, vidyādharas, nāgas, sages, siddhas, and cāraṇas.
सुपर्णैर् दानवैर् दैत्यै राक्षसैर् गुह्यकिंनरैः अन्यैर् देवगणैर् दिव्यैः स्तूयमानो विराजते
Praised by suparṇas, demons, titans, rākṣasas, guhyakas, kinnaras, and other divine hosts, he shines in splendor.
तत्रस्था सततं कीर्तिः प्रज्ञा मेधा सरस्वती बुद्धिर् मतिस् तथा क्षान्तिः सिद्धिमूर्तिस् तथा द्युतिः
There dwell constantly Fame, Wisdom, Intelligence, Sarasvatī, Understanding, Thought, Patience, the embodiment of Success, and Radiance.
गायत्री चैव सावित्री मङ्गला सर्वमङ्गला प्रभा मतिस् तथा कान्तिस् तत्र नारायणी स्थिता
There too are Gāyatrī, Sāvitrī, Maṅgalā, the source of all auspiciousness, Splendor, Thought, Beauty, and Nārāyaṇī herself.
श्रद्धा च कौशिकी देवी विद्युत् सौदामिनी तथा निद्रा रात्रिस् तथा माया तथान्यामरयोषितः
Also present are Śraddhā, the goddess Kauśikī, Lightning, Saudāminī, Sleep, Night, Māyā, and other celestial women.
वासुदेवस्य सर्वास् ता भवने संप्रतिष्ठिताः अथ किं बहुनोक्तेन सर्वं तत्र प्रतिष्ठितम्
All these reside in the abode of Vāsudeva; what more need be said? Everything is established there.
घृताची मेनका रम्भा सहजन्या तिलोत्तमा उर्वशी चैव निम्लोचा तथान्या वामना परा
Ghṛtācī, Menakā, Rambhā, Sahajanyā, Tilottamā, Urvaśī, Nimlocā, and others, both small and great, are there.
मन्दोदरी च सुभगा विश्वाची विपुलानना भद्राङ्गी चित्रसेना च प्रम्लोचा सुमनोहरा
Mandodarī, the fortunate one, Viśvācī, broad-faced, Bhadrāṅgī, Citrasenā, Pramlocā, all of enchanting beauty, are present.
मुनिसंमोहिनी रामा चन्द्रमध्या शुभानना सुकेशी नीलकेशा च तथा मन्मथदीपिनी
The sage-bewildering Rāmā, Candramadhyā of auspicious face, Sukeśī, Nīlakeśā, and Manmathadīpinī are there as well.
अलम्बुषा मिश्रकेशी तथान्या मुञ्जिकस्थला क्रतुस्थला वराङ्गी च पूर्वचित्तिस् तथा परा
Alambuṣā, Miśrakeśī, Muñjikasthalā, Kratusthalā, the beautiful-limbed one, Pūrvacitti, and others are also present.
परावती महारूपा शशिलेखा शुभानना हंसलीलानुगामिन्यो मत्तवारणगामिनी
Parāvatī of great form, Śaśilekhā of auspicious face, those who move like swans, and those who walk like intoxicated elephants are there.
बिम्बौष्ठी नवगर्भा च विख्याताः सुरयोषितः एताश् चान्या अप्सरसो रूपयौवनगर्विताः
Bimbauṣṭhī, Navagarbhā, and other renowned celestial women, as well as other apsarases, proud of their beauty and youth, are present.
