O Puruṣottama, save me who am submerged in the ocean of worldly existence; the twelve pilgrimages I have performed, O Lord of the universe—
By your grace, O Govinda, may these be fulfilled for me. Having thus propitiated the deity, one should bow down in full prostration.

With faith and full concentration, O best of sages, one should construct a beautiful pavilion of various flowers above the deity.

After making this arrangement, one should keep vigil at night, narrating stories and singing songs about Vāsudeva.
A wise person should spend the night meditating, reciting, and praising the deity; then, in the pure morning of the twelfth day, indeed—
One should invite brāhmaṇas who have bathed for the vow, who are learned in the Vedas, who know history and Purāṇas, who are śrotriyas, and who have controlled their senses.
Having bathed properly according to the rules, wearing clean garments and with senses subdued, one should perform the bathing as before and worship Puruṣottama there.

With fragrances, flowers, offerings, food, lamps, and many kinds of services, with prostrations and circumambulations, one should honor Him.
Having worshipped the Lord of the Universe with recitations, hymns, salutations, and delightful songs and instruments, one should then honor the Brahmins.

With devotion, one should give them wealth, garments, and other items; for when Brahmins are worshipped with sincerity, Govinda is pleased.
Then, with devotion, one should give the teacher a cow, a garment, gold, another pair of umbrella and footwear, and a bronze vessel.
After that, one should feed the Brahmins with food beginning with sweet rice, cooked grains, and various edibles mixed with jaggery and ghee.

Having thus worshipped those Brahmins, one should honor the guru, the giver of knowledge, with supreme devotion, as one would honor Vishnu, O best of twice-born.
Having worshipped him with gold, garments, cows, grains, and other excellent gifts, and having bowed, the wise should recite this mantra:
"May the all-pervading Lord of the Universe, who holds the conch, discus, and mace, the beginningless and endless God, the Supreme Person, be pleased."
Having uttered this, one should then circumambulate the Brahmins three times, bowing with the head in devotion, and then respectfully dismiss the teacher.
Then, with devotion, one should accompany those Brahmins to the boundary, and after following all of them and offering salutations, one should take leave.
Then, joined by relatives and friends, one should eat, observing restraint in speech, along with other worshippers, the poor, mendicants, and those desiring food.

By performing thus, whether man or woman, one attains the fruit equal to a thousand horse sacrifices and a hundred royal consecrations.
O best of men, taking a hundred from the past and a hundred from the future, O Brahmins, one attains heaven, bearing a divine form.
