मन्दाकिन्याः सितं वारि सर्वपापहरं शिवम् गृहाणाचमनीयं त्वं मया भक्त्या निवेदितम्
Receive this pure water from the Mandākinī, auspicious and remover of all sins, which I offer to you with devotion as water for sipping.
त्वम् आपः पृथिवी चैव ज्योतिस् त्वं वायुर् एव च लोकेश वृत्तिमात्रेण वारिणा स्नापयाम्य् अहम्
You are water, earth, light, and indeed air; O Lord of the world, I bathe you with water, as is proper.
देवतत्त्वसमायुक्त यज्ञवर्णसमन्वित स्वर्णवर्णप्रभे देव वाससी तव केशव
O Keśava, your garments shine with the radiance of gold, imbued with the essence of divinity and the marks of sacrifice.
शरीरं ते न जानामि चेष्टां चैव च केशव मया निवेदितो गन्धः प्रतिगृह्य विलिप्यताम्
O Keśava, I do not know your body or your movements; I offer fragrance to you, let it be accepted and applied.
ऋग्यजुःसाममन्त्रेण त्रिवृतं पद्मयोनिना सावित्रीग्रन्थिसंयुक्तम् उपवीतं तवार्पये
With the Ṛg, Yajur, and Sāma mantras, in triple form, from the lotus-born, and joined with the knot of Sāvitrī, I offer you the sacred thread.
दिव्यरत्नसमायुक्त वह्निभानुसमप्रभ गात्राणि तव शोभन्तु सालंकाराणि माधव
May your limbs shine, O Mādhava, adorned with divine jewels and ornaments radiant like fire and the sun.
वनस्पतिरसो दिव्यो गन्धाढ्यः सुरभिश् च ते मया निवेदितो भक्त्या धूपो ऽयं प्रतिगृह्यताम्
This incense, divine and rich in fragrance from the essence of forest trees, I offer to you with devotion; let it be accepted.
सूर्यचन्द्रसमो ज्योतिर् विद्युदग्न्योस् तथैव च त्वम् एव ज्योतिषां देव दीपो ऽयं प्रतिगृह्यताम्
Your light is equal to the sun and moon, as well as lightning and fire; O Lord, you are the light of all lights—let this lamp be accepted.
अन्नं चतुर्विधं चैव रसैः षड्भिः समन्वितम् मया निवेदितं भक्त्या नैवेद्यं तव केशव
I offer to you, O Keśava, food of four kinds, prepared with six flavors, as devotional offering.
पूर्वे दले वासुदेवं याम्ये संकर्षणं न्यसेत् प्रद्युम्नं पश्चिमे कुर्याद् अनिरुद्धं तथोत्तरे
Place Vāsudeva on the eastern petal, Saṃkarṣaṇa on the southern, Pradyumna on the western, and Aniruddha on the northern.
वाराहं च तथाग्नेये नरसिंहं च नैरृते वायव्ये माधवं चैव तथैशाने त्रिविक्रमम्
Place Varāha in the southeast, Narasiṃha in the southwest, Mādhava in the northwest, and Trivikrama in the northeast.
तथाष्टाक्षरदेवस्य गरुडं पुरतो न्यसेत् वामपार्श्वे तथा चक्रं शङ्खं दक्षिणतो न्यसेत्
Place Garuḍa before the eight-syllabled deity, the discus on the left side, and the conch on the right.
तथा महागदां चैव न्यसेद् देवस्य दक्षिणे ततः शार्ङ्गं धनुर् विद्वान् न्यसेद् देवस्य वामतः
Place the great mace on the right side of the deity, and the wise should place the Śārṅga bow on the left.
दक्षिणेनेषुधी दिव्ये खड्गं वामे च विन्यसेत् श्रियं दक्षिणतः स्थाप्य पुष्टिम् उत्तरतो न्यसेत्
Place the divine quiver on the right, the sword on the left; establish Śrī on the right and Puṣṭi on the north.
वनमालां च पुरतस् ततः श्रीवत्सकौस्तुभौ विन्यसेद् धृदयादीनि पूर्वादिषु चतुर्दिशम्
Place the forest garland in front, then Śrīvatsa and Kaustubha; arrange the heart and other marks in the four directions.
ततो ऽस्त्रं देवदेवस्य कोणे चैव तु विन्यसेत् इन्द्रम् अग्निं यमं चैव नैरृतं वरुणं तथा
Then place the weapon of the Lord of gods in the corners; also place Indra, Agni, Yama, Nirṛti, and Varuṇa.
वायुं धनदम् ईशानम् अनन्तं ब्रह्मणा सह पूजयेत् तान्त्रिकैर् मन्त्रैर् अधश् चोर्ध्वं तथैव च
Worship Vāyu, Kubera, Īśāna, Ananta, along with Brahmā, using Tantric mantras, both below and above.
एवं संपूज्य देवेशं मण्डलस्थं जनार्दनम् लभेद् अभिमतान् कामान् नरो नास्त्य् अत्र संशयः
Thus worshipping Janārdana, Lord of gods, situated in the maṇḍala, a man attains his desired wishes—there is no doubt in this.
अनेनैव विधानेन मण्डलस्थं जनार्दनम् पूजितं यः संपश्येत स विशेद् विष्णुम् अव्ययम्
Whoever beholds Janārdana, worshipped in the maṇḍala according to this very method, enters into the imperishable Viṣṇu.
सकृद् अप्य् अर्चितो येन विधिनानेन केशवः जन्ममृत्युजरां तीर्त्वा स विष्णोः पदम् आप्नुयात्
He who worships Keśava even once with this rite, crossing over birth, death, and old age, attains the abode of Viṣṇu.
यः स्मरेत् सततं भक्त्या नारायणम् अतन्द्रितः अन्वहं तस्य वासाय श्वेतद्वीपः प्रकल्पितः
Whoever remembers Nārāyaṇa constantly with unwavering devotion, for him, day by day, Śvetadvīpa is prepared as a dwelling.
ओंकारादिसमायुक्तं नमःकारान्तदीपितम् तन्नाम सर्वतत्त्वानां मन्त्र इत्य् अभिधीयते
That name, beginning with Oṃ and ending with the salutation, illuminated by 'namas', is declared to be the mantra of all realities.
अनेनैव विधानेन गन्धपुष्पं निवेदयेत् एकैकस्य प्रकुर्वीत यथोद्दिष्टं क्रमेण तु
With this very procedure, one should offer fragrance and flowers, performing each for each as prescribed, in the proper order.
मुद्रास् ततो निबध्नीयाद् यथोक्तक्रमचोदिताः जपं चैव प्रकुर्वीत मूलमन्त्रेण मन्त्रवित्
Then, one should form the mudrās as instructed in the proper sequence, and the knower of mantra should recite the root mantra.
अष्टाविंशतिम् अष्टौ वा शतम् अष्टोत्तरं तथा कामेषु च यथाप्रोक्तं यथाशक्ति समाहितः
With concentration, as prescribed and according to one's ability, one should recite twenty-eight, eight, or one hundred and eight times, or as desired.
पद्मं शङ्खश् च श्रीवत्सो गदा गरुड एव च चक्रं खड्गश् च शार्ङ्गं च अष्टौ मुद्राः प्रकीर्तिताः
The lotus, conch, Śrīvatsa, mace, Garuḍa, discus, sword, and Śārṅga—these eight mudrās are proclaimed.
गच्छ गच्छ परं स्थानं पुराणपुरुषोत्तम यत्र ब्रह्मादयो देवा विन्दन्ति परमं पदम्
Go, go to the supreme place, O ancient Supreme Person, where Brahmā and the other gods attain the highest abode.
अर्चनं ये न जानन्ति हरेर् मन्त्रैर् यथोदितम् ते तत्र मूलमन्त्रेण पूजयन्त्व् अच्युतं सदा
Those who do not know the worship of Hari as prescribed by the mantras should always worship Acyuta there with the root mantra.
एवं संपूज्य विधिवद् भक्त्या तं पुरुषोत्तमम् प्रणम्य शिरसा पश्चात् सागरं च प्रसादयेत्
Thus, having worshipped that Supreme Person properly and with devotion, one should bow the head and then propitiate the ocean.
प्राणस् त्वं सर्वभूतानां योनिश् च सरितां पते तीर्थराज नमस् ते ऽस्तु त्राहि माम् अच्युतप्रिय
You are the life of all beings and the source of all rivers, O lord of waters, king of sacred fords, salutations to you; protect me, beloved of Acyuta.
