ततो रसायनं दिव्यं पाययन्ति द्विजोत्तमाः पीतमात्रे दिव्यदेहो जायते सुमहाबलः
Then, O best of twice-born, they give him divine elixir to drink; upon drinking it, a divine body arises, endowed with great strength.
क्रीडते सह कन्याभिर् यावद् आभूतसंप्लवम् भिन्नदेहो वासुदेवे लीयते नात्र संशयः
He plays with the maidens until the dissolution of creation; his separate body merges into Vāsudeva—there is no doubt about this.
यदा न रोचते वासस् तस्मान् निर्गच्छते पुनः पट्टं शूलं च खड्गं च रोचनां च मणिं तथा
When the dwelling no longer pleases, he departs again, taking with him cloth, spear, sword, rocanā, and a jewel.
रसं रसायनं चैव पादुकाञ्जनम् एव च कृष्णाजिनं मुनिश्रेष्ठा गुटिकां च मनोहराम्
He takes the essence, the elixir, sandals, collyrium, black antelope skin, O best of sages, and a delightful pill.
कमण्डलुं चाक्षसूत्रं यष्टिं संजीवनीं तथा सिद्धविद्यां च शास्त्राणि गृहीत्वा साधकेश्वरः
The accomplished master, taking the water pot, the rosary, the staff, the reviving herb, the perfected knowledge, and the scriptures—
ज्वलद्वह्निस्फुलिङ्गोर्मिवेष्टितं त्रिशिखं हृदि सकृन् न्यस्तं दहेत् सर्वं वृजिनं जन्मकोटिजम्
If he places in his heart, even once, the three-pointed (mantra) surrounded by blazing sparks of fire, it will burn away all sin accumulated over millions of births.
विषे न्यस्तं विषं हन्यात् कुष्ठं हन्यात् तनौ स्थितम् स्वदेहे भ्रूणहत्यादि कृत्वा दिव्येन शुध्यति
If poison is placed upon poison, it destroys it; it destroys leprosy present in the body; and even after committing acts like abortion on oneself, one is purified by the divine (practice).
महाग्रहगृहीतेषु ज्वलमानं विचिन्तयेत् हृदन्ते वै ततः शीघ्रं नश्येयुर् दारुणा ग्रहाः
When seized by great malefic planets, one should contemplate the blazing (mantra) at the end of the heart; then, those fierce planets will quickly be destroyed.
बालानां कण्ठके बद्धं रक्षा भवति नित्यशः गण्डपिण्डकलूतानां नाशनं कुरुते ध्रुवम्
Tied around the necks of children, it always acts as protection; it certainly destroys swelling, tumors, and boils.
व्याधिजाते समिद्भिश् च घृतक्षीरेण होमयेत् त्रिसंध्यं मासम् एकं तु सर्वरोगान् विनाशयेत्
When disease arises, one should perform oblations with sacred sticks and clarified butter mixed with milk at the three junctions of the day for one month; it destroys all diseases.
असाध्यं तु न पश्यामि त्रैलोक्ये सचराचरे यां यां कामयते सिद्धिं तां तां प्राप्नोति स ध्रुवम्
I do not see anything incurable in the three worlds, moving or unmoving; whatever accomplishment he desires, he certainly attains.
अष्टोत्तरशतं त्व् एके पूजयित्वा मृगाधिपम् मृत्तिकाः सप्त वल्मीके श्मशाने च चतुष्पथे
Some, having worshipped the Lord of Beasts one hundred and eight times, take seven clods of earth from an anthill, a cremation ground, and a crossroads.
रक्तचन्दनसंमिश्रा गवां क्षीरेण लोडयेत् सिंहस्य प्रतिमां कृत्वा प्रमाणेन षडङ्गुलाम्
Mixing them with red sandalwood and cow's milk, one should fashion an image of a lion, measuring six finger-breadths.
लिम्पेत् तथा भूर्जपत्त्रे रोचनया समालिखेत् नरसिंहस्य कण्ठे तु बद्ध्वा चैव हि मन्त्रवित्
Likewise, on birch bark, one should inscribe (the mantra) with yellow pigment; the knower of mantras should tie it on the neck of Narasimha.
जपेत् संख्याविहीनं तु पूजयित्वा जलाशये यावत् सप्ताहमात्रं तु जपेत् संयमितेन्द्रियः
He should recite (the mantra) without counting, having worshipped at a body of water, and for seven days, with controlled senses, he should continue the recitation.
जलाकीर्णा मुहूर्तेन जायते सर्वमेदिनी अथवा शुष्कवृक्षाग्रे नरसिंहं तु पूजयेत्
In a moment, the whole earth becomes flooded with water; or, one should worship Narasimha at the top of a dry tree.
जप्त्वा चाष्टशतं तत्त्वं वर्षन्तं विनिवारयेत् तम् एवं पिञ्जके बद्ध्वा भ्रामयेत् साधकोत्तमः
Having recited the essence one hundred and eight times, he can stop the rain; having tied it in a casket, the excellent practitioner should whirl it.
महावातो मुहूर्तेन आगच्छेन् नात्र संशयः पुनश् च धारयेत् क्षिप्रं सप्तसप्तेन वारिणा
A great wind will arise in a moment—of this there is no doubt; again, he should quickly hold it with water seven or seventy times.
अथ तां प्रतिमां द्वारि निखनेद् यस्य साधकः गोत्रोत्सादो भवेत् तस्य उद्धृते चैव शान्तिदः
Then, the practitioner should bury that image at the doorway of whomever he wishes; that person’s lineage will be destroyed, and when it is removed, peace is restored.
तस्मात् तं मुनिशार्दूला भक्त्या संपूजयेत् सदा मृगराजं महावीर्यं सर्वकामफलप्रदम्
Therefore, O tiger among sages, one should always worship with devotion the mighty Lion Lord, who grants all desired fruits.
विमुक्तः सर्वपापेभ्यो विष्णुलोकं स गच्छति ब्राह्मणाः क्षत्रिया वैश्याः स्त्रियः शूद्रान्त्यजातयः
Freed from all sins, he goes to the world of Vishnu—Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, women, Shudras, and even those of lowest birth.
संपूज्य तं सुरश्रेष्ठं भक्त्या सिंहवपुर्धरम् मुच्यन्ते चाशुभैर् दुःखैर् जन्मकोटिसमुद्भवैः
Having worshipped that best of gods, who has the form of a lion, with devotion, they are freed from inauspicious sufferings arising from millions of births.
संपूज्य तं सुरश्रेष्ठं प्राप्नुवन्त्य् अभिवाञ्छितम् देवत्वम् अमरेशत्वं गन्धर्वत्वं च भो द्विजाः
Having worshipped that foremost among the gods, they attain their desired goal—divinity, lordship among immortals, and the status of Gandharvas, O twice-born ones.
यक्षविद्याधरत्वं च तथान्यच् चाभिवाञ्छितम् दृष्ट्वा स्तुत्वा नमस्कृत्वा संपूज्य नरकेसरीम्
The status of Yakshas and Vidyadharas, as well as any other wished-for state, is attained by seeing, praising, bowing to, and worshipping Narakesari.
प्राप्नुवन्ति नरा राज्यं स्वर्गं मोक्षं च दुर्लभम् नरसिंहं नरो दृष्ट्वा लभेद् अभिमतं फलम्
Men obtain kingship, heaven, and the rare liberation; by seeing Narasimha, a man gains the fruit he desires.
निर्मुक्तः सर्वपापेभ्यो विष्णुलोकं स गच्छति सकृद् दृष्ट्वा तु तं देवं भक्त्या सिंहवपुर्धरम्
Freed from all sins, he goes to the realm of Vishnu, merely by seeing that god, who bears the form of a lion, with devotion.
मुच्यते चाशुभैर् दुःखैर् जन्मकोटिसमुद्भवैः संग्रामे संकटे दुर्गे चोरव्याघ्रादिपीडिते
He is released from inauspicious sufferings arising from countless births, whether in battle, distress, fortress, or afflicted by thieves, tigers, and the like.
कान्तारे प्राणसंदेहे विषवह्निजलेषु च राजादिभ्यः समुद्रेभ्यो ग्रहरोगादिपीडिते
In wilderness, when life is in danger, in poison, fire, or water, afflicted by kings, oceans, planets, diseases, and the like—
स्मृत्वा तं पुरुषः सर्वै राजग्रामैर् विमुच्यते सूर्योदये यथा नाशं तमो ऽभ्येति महत्तरम्
By remembering him, a person is freed from all royal and village troubles, just as darkness vanishes at sunrise.
तथा संदर्शने तस्य विनाशं यान्त्य् उपद्रवाः गुटिकाञ्जनपातालपादुके च रसायनम्
Likewise, at the sight of him, calamities are destroyed—amulets, ointments, underground shoes, and elixirs.
