दृष्ट्वा वटं वैनतेयं यः पश्येत् पुरुषोत्तमम् संकर्षणं सुभद्रां च स याति परमां गतिम्
Whoever sees the banyan, Garuḍa, the Supreme Person, Saṅkarṣaṇa, and Subhadrā attains the highest state.
प्रविश्यायतनं विष्णोः कृत्वा तं त्रिः प्रदक्षिणम् संकर्षणं स्वमन्त्रेण भक्त्यापूज्य प्रसादयेत्
Entering the temple of Vishnu, circumambulating it three times, and worshipping Saṅkarṣaṇa with one’s own mantra and devotion, one should propitiate him.
नमस् ते हलधृग् राम नमस् ते मुशलायुध नमस् ते रेवतीकान्त नमस् ते भक्तवत्सल
Salutations to you, Rāma who wields the plough; salutations to you, bearer of the pestle; salutations to you, beloved of Revatī; salutations to you, who are affectionate to devotees.
नमस् ते बलिनां श्रेष्ठ नमस् ते धरणीधर प्रलम्बारे नमस् ते ऽस्तु त्राहि मां कृष्णपूर्वज
Salutations to you, best among the strong; salutations to you, supporter of the earth; enemy of Pralamba, salutations to you; protect me, elder brother of Krishna.
एवं प्रसाद्य चानन्तम् अजेयं त्रिदशार्चितम् कैलासशिखराकारं चन्द्रात् कान्ततराननम्
Thus propitiating Ananta, the unconquerable one worshipped by the gods, whose form is like the peak of Kailāsa, whose face is more radiant than the moon—
नीलवस्त्रधरं देवं फणाविकटमस्तकम् महाबलं हलधरं कुण्डलैकविभूषितम्
The god who wears blue garments, whose head is adorned with great serpent hoods, who is immensely strong, who wields the plough, and is adorned with a single earring—
रौहिणेयं नरो भक्त्या लभेद् अभिमतं फलम् सर्वपापैर् विनिर्मुक्तो विष्णुलोकं स गच्छति
A man who, with devotion, worships the son of Rohiṇī attains his desired reward and, freed from all sins, goes to the world of Vishnu.
आभूतसंप्लवं यावद् भुक्त्वा तत्र सुखं नरः पुण्यक्षयाद् इहागत्य प्रवरे योगिनां कुले
There, enjoying happiness until the end of the cosmic dissolution, when his merit is exhausted, he returns here, born in the foremost family of yogis.
ब्राह्मणप्रवरो भूत्वा सर्वशास्त्रार्थपारगः ज्ञानं तत्र समासाद्य मुक्तिं प्राप्नोति दुर्लभाम्
Becoming a foremost Brāhmaṇa, accomplished in all the meanings of the scriptures, he attains knowledge there and reaches the rare liberation.
एवम् अभ्यर्च्य हलिनं ततः कृष्णं विचक्षणः द्वादशाक्षरमन्त्रेण पूजयेत् सुसमाहितः
Thus, having worshipped Halin, then the wise man should worship Krishna with the twelve-syllable mantra, with a concentrated mind.
द्विषट्कवर्णमन्त्रेण भक्त्या ये पुरुषोत्तमम् पूजयन्ति सदा धीरास् ते मोक्षं प्राप्नुवन्ति वै
Those steadfast ones who always worship the Supreme Person with the twelve-letter mantra, with devotion, truly attain liberation.
न तां गतिं सुरा यान्ति योगिनो नैव सोमपाः यां गतिं यान्ति भो विप्रा द्वादशाक्षरतत्पराः
Not even the gods, nor yogis, nor drinkers of soma, attain that state which, O Brāhmaṇas, is reached by those devoted to the twelve-syllable mantra.
तस्मात् तेनैव मन्त्रेण भक्त्या कृष्णं जगद्गुरुम् संपूज्य गन्धपुष्पाद्यैः प्रणिपत्य प्रसादयेत्
Therefore, with that very mantra, one should worship Krishna, the teacher of the world, with devotion, using sandalwood paste, flowers, and other offerings, bowing down and seeking his favor.
जय कृष्ण जगन्नाथ जय सर्वाघनाशन जय चाणूरकेशिघ्न जय कंसनिषूदन
Victory to Krishna, Lord of the universe! Victory to the destroyer of all sins! Victory to the slayer of Chanura and Keshi! Victory to the vanquisher of Kamsa!
जय पद्मपलाशाक्ष जय चक्रगदाधर जय नीलाम्बुदश्याम जय सर्वसुखप्रद
Victory to you, lotus-leaf-eyed one! Victory to you, bearer of the discus and mace! Victory to you, dark as a blue cloud! Victory to you, giver of all happiness!
जय देव जगत्पूज्य जय संसारनाशन जय लोकपते नाथ जय वाञ्छाफलप्रद
Victory to you, O divine one, worshipped by the world! Victory to you, destroyer of worldly existence! Victory to you, Lord and master of all beings! Victory to you, fulfiller of all desires!
संसारसागरे घोरे निःसारे दुःखफेनिले क्रोधग्राहाकुले रौद्रे विषयोदकसंप्लवे
In the dreadful ocean of worldly existence, devoid of essence and foaming with suffering, filled with fierce crocodiles of anger and turbulent with the flood of sense-objects,
नानारोगोर्मिकलिले मोहावर्तसुदुस्तरे निमग्नो ऽहं सुरश्रेष्ठ त्राहि मां पुरुषोत्तम
In the mire of countless diseases, in the difficult whirlpool of delusion, I am submerged, O best of gods; save me, O Supreme Person!
एवं प्रसाद्य देवेशं वरदं भक्तवत्सलम् सर्वपापहरं देवं सर्वकामफलप्रदम्
Thus, having pleased the Lord of gods, the bestower of boons, who cherishes his devotees, the remover of all sins, the god who grants the fruits of all desires,
पीनांसं द्विभुजं कृष्णं पद्मपत्त्रायतेक्षणम् महोरस्कं महाबाहुं पीतवस्त्रं शुभाननम्
One beholds Krishna, with strong limbs, two arms, eyes wide as lotus petals, broad chest, mighty arms, yellow garments, and auspicious face.
शङ्खचक्रगदापाणिं मुकुटाङ्गदभूषणम् सर्वलक्षणसंयुक्तं वनमालाविभूषितम्
Holding conch, discus, and mace in his hands, adorned with crown and armlets, endowed with all marks of excellence, and decorated with a garland of forest flowers.
दृष्ट्वा नरो ऽञ्जलिं कृत्वा दण्डवत् प्रणिपत्य च अश्वमेधसहस्राणां फलं प्राप्नोति वै द्विजाः
Upon seeing him, a person, joining their palms and bowing down in prostration, attains the fruit of a thousand horse sacrifices, O twice-born ones.
यत् फलं सर्वतीर्थेषु स्नाने दाने प्रकीर्तितम् नरस् तत् फलम् आप्नोति दृष्ट्वा कृष्णं प्रणम्य च
Whatever fruit is declared for bathing and giving gifts at all sacred places, a person attains that fruit by seeing Krishna and bowing to him.
यत् फलं सर्वरत्नाद्यैर् इष्टे बहुसुवर्णके नरस् तत् फलम् आप्नोति दृष्ट्वा कृष्णं प्रणम्य च
Whatever fruit is gained by worship with all jewels and abundant gold, a person attains that fruit by seeing Krishna and bowing to him.
यत् फलं सर्ववेदेषु सर्वयज्ञेषु यत् फलम् तत् फलं समवाप्नोति नरः कृष्णं प्रणम्य च
Whatever fruit is obtained from all the Vedas and all sacrifices, a person equally attains that fruit by seeing Krishna and bowing to him.
यत् फलं सर्वदानेन व्रतेन नियमेन च नरस् तत् फलम् आप्नोति दृष्ट्वा कृष्णं प्रणम्य च
Whatever fruit is gained by all acts of charity, by vows and disciplines, a person attains that fruit by seeing Krishna and bowing to him.
तपोभिर् विविधैर् उग्रैर् यत् फलं समुदाहृतम् नरस् तत् फलम् आप्नोति दृष्ट्वा कृष्णं प्रणम्य च
Whatever fruit is declared for various intense austerities, a person attains that fruit by seeing Krishna and bowing to him.
यत् फलं ब्रह्मचर्येण सम्यक् चीर्णेन तत्कृतम् नरस् तत् फलम् आप्नोति दृष्ट्वा कृष्णं प्रणम्य च
Whatever fruit is produced by rightly practiced celibacy, a person attains that fruit by seeing Krishna and bowing to him.
यत् फलं च गृहस्थस्य यथोक्ताचारवर्तिनः नरस् तत् फलम् आप्नोति दृष्ट्वा कृष्णं प्रणम्य च
Whatever fruit accrues to a householder who follows the prescribed conduct, a person attains that fruit by seeing Krishna and bowing to him.
यत् फलं वनवासेन वानप्रस्थस्य कीर्तितम् नरस् तत् फलम् आप्नोति दृष्ट्वा कृष्णं प्रणम्य च
Whatever fruit is declared for living in the forest as a hermit, a person attains that fruit by seeing Krishna and bowing to him.
