कीर्तिश् च तव राजेन्द्र भवत्य् अत्र महीतले यावद् घना नभो यावद् यावच् चन्द्रार्कतारकम्
Your fame, O king, will endure on this earth as long as clouds remain in the sky, as long as the moon, sun, and stars exist.
यावत् समुद्राः सप्तैव यावन् मेर्वादिपर्वताः तिष्ठन्ति दिवि देवाश् च तावत् सर्वत्र चाव्यया
As long as the seven oceans and mountains like Meru stand, as long as gods dwell in heaven, so long will your glory be everywhere, undiminished.
इन्द्रद्युम्नसरो नाम तीर्थं यज्ञाङ्गसंभवम् यत्र स्नात्वा सकृल् लोकः शक्रलोकम् अवाप्नुयात्
There is a sacred place called Indradyumna Lake, born from the limbs of sacrifice; whoever bathes there even once attains the world of Indra.
दापयिष्यति यः पिण्डांस् तटे ऽस्मिन् सरसः शुभे कुलैकविंशम् उद्धृत्य शक्रलोकं गमिष्यति
Whoever offers ancestral oblations on the beautiful bank of this lake, uplifting twenty-one generations of his lineage, will go to the world of Indra.
पूज्यमानो ऽप्सरोभिश् च गन्धर्वैर् गीतनिस्वनैः विमानेन वसेत् तत्र यावद् इन्द्राश् चतुर्दश
Honored by celestial nymphs and with the songs of Gandharvas resounding, he will dwell there in a celestial chariot for as long as fourteen Indras reign.
सरसो दक्षिणे भागे नैरृत्यां तु समाश्रिते न्यग्रोधस् तिष्ठते तत्र तत्समीपे तु मण्डपः
On the southern side of the lake, in the direction of the southwest, stands a banyan tree; near it there is a pavilion.
केतकीवनसंछन्नो नानापादपसंकुलः नारिकेलैर् असंख्येयैश् चम्पकैर् बकुलावृतैः
Covered by a grove of ketaki and crowded with various trees, it is adorned with countless coconut palms, champaka, and bakula trees.
अशोकैः कर्णिकारैश् च पुंनागैर् नागकेसरैः पाटलाम्रातसरलैश् चन्दनैर् देवदारुभिः
There are ashoka, karnikara, punnaga, nagakesara, patala, amra, atisara, sandalwood, and deodar trees.
न्यग्रोधाश्वत्थखदिरैः पारिजातैः सहार्जुनैः हिन्तालैश् चैव तालैश् च शिंशपैर् बदरैस् तथा
There are banyan, sacred fig, khadira, parijata, arjuna, hintala, various palms, shimshapa, and jujube trees as well.
करञ्जैर् लकुचैः प्लक्षैः पनसैर् बिल्वधातुकैः अन्यैर् बहुविधैर् वृक्षैः शोभितः समलंकृतः
It is beautified and adorned with karanja, lakucha, plaksha, jackfruit, bael, dhataki, and many other kinds of trees.
आषाढस्य सिते पक्षे पञ्चम्यां पितृदैवते ऋक्षे नेष्यन्ति नस् तत्र नीत्वा सप्त दिनानि वै
On the fifth day of the bright fortnight of Ashadha, under the constellation sacred to the ancestors, they will take us there and keep us for seven days.
मण्डपे स्थापयिष्यन्ति सुवेश्याभिः सुशोभनैः क्रीडाविशेषबहुलैर् नृत्यगीतमनोहरैः
In the pavilion, they will seat us with beautiful courtesans, amidst abundant amusements, with enchanting dance and song.
चामरैः स्वर्णदण्डैश् च व्यजनै रत्नभूषणैः वीजयन्तस् तथास्मभ्यं स्थापयिष्यन्ति मङ्गलाः
With fly-whisks of golden handles and fans adorned with jewels, they will fan us, and auspicious women will attend us.
ब्रह्मचारी यतिश् चैव स्नातकाश् च द्विजोत्तमाः वानप्रस्था गृहस्थाश् च सिद्धाश् चान्ये च ब्राह्मणाः
Celibates, ascetics, learned twice-borns, forest-dwellers, householders, perfected beings, and other Brahmins will also be present.
नानावर्णपदैः स्तोत्रैर् ऋग्यजुःसामनिस्वनैः करिष्यन्ति स्तुतिं राजन् रामकेशवयोः पुनः
With hymns of various meters and words, with the sounds of the Rig, Yajur, and Sama Vedas, they will offer praise again to Rama and Keshava, O King.
ततः स्तुत्वा च दृष्ट्वा च संप्रणम्य च भक्तितः नरो वर्षायुतं दिव्यं श्रीमद्धरिपुरे वसेत्
Then, having praised, seen, and bowed with devotion, a man will dwell in the splendid city of Hari for ten thousand divine years.
पूज्यमानो ऽप्सरोभिश् च गन्धर्वैर् गीतनिस्वनैः हरेर् अनुचरस् तत्र क्रीडते केशवेन वै
Honored by celestial nymphs and with the songs of Gandharvas resounding, he plays there as a companion of Hari, indeed with Keshava.
विमानेनार्कवर्णेन रत्नहारेण भ्राजता सर्वकामैर् महाभोगैस् तिष्ठते भुवनोत्तमे
In a celestial chariot shining like the sun, adorned with jeweled garlands, he abides in the highest world, enjoying all pleasures and great enjoyments.
तपःक्षयादिहागत्य मनुष्यो ब्राह्मणो भवेत् कोटीधनपतिः श्रीमांश् चतुर्वेदी भवेद् ध्रुवम्
When his merit is exhausted and he comes here, he is born as a Brahmin, surely becoming a lord of wealth by the millions, prosperous, and a knower of the four Vedas.
एवं तस्मै वरं दत्त्वा कृत्वा च समयं हरिः जगामादर्शनं विप्राः सहितो विश्वकर्मणा
Thus, having granted him the boon and made an agreement, Hari departed from sight, O Brahmins, together with Vishvakarma.
स तु राजा तदा हृष्टो रोमाञ्चिततनूरुहः कृतकृत्यम् इवात्मानं मेने संदर्शनाद् धरेः
Then that king, delighted and with his hair standing on end, regarded himself as fulfilled, as if his purpose was accomplished, by beholding Hari.
ततः कृष्णं च रामं च सुभद्रां च वरप्रदाम् रथैर् विमानसंकाशैर् मणिकाञ्चनचित्रितैः
Thereafter, Kṛṣṇa, Rāma, and Subhadrā, bestower of boons, were brought on chariots that resembled celestial vehicles, adorned with jewels and gold.
संवाह्य तास् तदा राजा महामङ्गलनिःस्वनैः आनयाम् आस मतिमान् सामात्यः सपुरोहितः
At that time, the wise king, together with his ministers and priests, respectfully brought them with great auspicious sounds.
नानावादित्रनिर्घोषैर् नानावेदस्वनैः शुभैः संस्थाप्य च शुभे देशे पवित्रे सुमनोहरे
With the resounding of various instruments and the auspicious chanting of different Vedas, he established them in a pure and most delightful place.
ततः शुभतिथौ काले नक्षत्रे शुभलक्षणे प्रतिष्ठां कारयाम् आस सुमुहूर्ते द्विजैः सह
Then, on an auspicious date and time, under a favorable constellation, he performed the installation ceremony at a most propitious moment, together with the brahmins.
यथोक्तेन विधानेन विधिदृष्टेन कर्मणा आचार्यानुमतेनैव सर्वं कृत्वा महीपतिः
The king, having performed all according to the prescribed rite and action as instructed, and with the approval of the teacher, completed everything.
आचार्याय तदा दत्त्वा दक्षिणां विधिवत् प्रभुः ऋत्विग्भ्यश् च विधानेन तथान्येभ्यो धनं ददौ
Then the lord duly gave the teacher the proper gift, and likewise, according to rule, gave wealth to the officiating priests and others.
कृत्वा प्रतिष्ठां विधिवत् प्रासादे भवनोत्तमे स्थापयाम् आस तान् सर्वान् विधिदृष्टेन कर्मणा
Having properly completed the installation in the excellent palace, he established all of them according to the prescribed rite.
ततः संपूज्य विधिना नानापुष्पैः सुगन्धिभिः सुवर्णमणिमुक्ताद्यैर् नानावस्त्रैः सुशोभनैः
Then, worshipping with various fragrant flowers, with gold, jewels, pearls, and many beautiful garments, he honored them according to the rite.
रत्नैश् च विविधैर् दिव्यैर् आसनैर् ग्रामपत्तनैः ददौ चान्यान् स विषयान् पुराणि नगराणि च
With various divine gems, seats, villages, and towns, he also gave other territories, ancient cities as well.
