तरंगाङ्कितकेशाय मुक्तकेशाय वै नमः नमः षट्कर्मनिष्ठाय त्रिकर्मनियताय च
Salutations to the one whose hair is marked with waves, to the one with loose hair; salutations to the one established in six rites and regulated by three actions.
वर्णाश्रमाणां विधिवत् पृथग्धर्मप्रवर्तिने नमः श्रेष्ठाय ज्येष्ठाय नमः कलकलाय च
Salutations to the one who rightly establishes the distinct duties of the castes and stages of life; salutations to the most excellent, the eldest, and to the one of many sounds.

कृष्णाजिनोत्तरीयाय व्यालयज्ञोपवीतिने ईशान रुद्रसंघात हरिकेश नमो ऽस्तु ते
Salutations to the one wearing a black antelope skin, to the one with a serpent sacred thread; to Īśāna, to the host of Rudras, to Harikeśa, salutations to you.
त्र्यम्बकायाम्बिकानाथ व्यक्ताव्यक्त नमो ऽस्तु ते कालकामदकामघ्न दुष्टोद्वृत्तनिषूदन
Salutations to Tryambaka, lord of Ambikā, manifest and unmanifest; to the destroyer of Kāla and Kāma, and to the slayer of the wicked and the unruly.
सर्वगर्हित सर्वघ्न सद्योजात नमो ऽस्तु ते उन्मादन शतावर्तगङ्गातोयार्द्रमूर्धज
Salutations to the one despised by all, destroyer of all, born instantly; to the maddener, whose hair is wet with the waters of the hundred-turning Gaṅgā.
चन्द्रार्धसंयुगावर्त मेघावर्त नमो ऽस्तु ते नमो ऽन्नदानकर्त्रे च अन्नदप्रभवे नमः
Salutations to the one with the whirl of the crescent moon and the whirl of clouds; salutations to the maker of food-giving and to the lord of food-giving.
अन्नभोक्त्रे च गोप्त्रे च त्वम् एव प्रलयानल जरायुजाण्डजाश् चैव स्वेदजोद्भिज्ज एव च
To the eater and protector of food, you alone are the fire of dissolution; and those born of womb, egg, sweat, and sprout, indeed.
त्वम् एव देवदेवेश भूतग्रामश् चतुर्विधः चराचरस्य स्रष्टा त्वं प्रतिहर्ता त्वम् एव च
You alone, lord of gods, are the fourfold host of beings; you are the creator and the destroyer of the moving and unmoving.
त्वम् एव ब्रह्मा विश्वेश अप्सु ब्रह्म वदन्ति ते सर्वस्य परमा योनिः सुधांशो ज्योतिषां निधिः
You alone are Brahmā, Lord of the Universe; in the waters, you are called Brahman. You are the supreme source of all, the nectar-rayed one, the treasury of lights.
ऋक्सामानि तथौंकारम् आहुस् त्वां ब्रह्मवादिनः हायि हायि हरे हायि हुवाहावेति वासकृत्
Those who speak of Brahman declare you to be the Ṛg, Sāma, and the sacred syllable Oṃ. 'Hāyi, hāyi, Hare, hāyi, huvāhā'—thus do they sing your praise.
गायन्ति त्वां सुरश्रेष्ठाः सामगा ब्रह्मवादिनः यजुर्मय ऋङ्मयश् च सामाथर्वयुतस् तथा
The best of the gods, the singers of the Sāma, and those versed in Brahman sing of you; you are composed of Yajur, Ṛg, Sāma, and also Atharva.
पठ्यसे ब्रह्मविद्भिस् त्वं कल्पोपनिषदां गणैः ब्राह्मणाः क्षत्रिया वैश्याः शूद्रा वर्णाश्रमाश् च ये
You are recited by knowers of Brahman, by groups versed in the Kalpa and Upaniṣads; Brāhmaṇas, Kṣatriyas, Vaiśyas, Śūdras, and all those of the social orders and stages of life.
त्वम् एवाश्रमसंघाश् च विद्युत् स्तनितम् एव च संवत्सरस् त्वम् ऋतवो मासा मासार्धम् एव च
You alone are the communities of āśramas, the lightning and thunder; you are the year, the seasons, the months, and even the half-months.
कला काष्ठा निमेषाश् च नक्षत्राणि युगानि च वृषाणां ककुदं त्वं हि गिरीणां शिखराणि च
You are the divisions of time—kalās, kāṣṭhās, nimeṣas—and the constellations and ages; you are the hump of bulls and the peaks of mountains.
सिंहो मृगाणां पतयस् तक्षकानन्तभोगिनाम् क्षीरोदो ह्य् उदधीनां च मन्त्राणां प्रणवस् तथा
You are the lion among animals, the lord among serpents Takṣaka and Ananta; you are the ocean of milk among seas, and among mantras, the syllable Oṃ.
वज्रं प्रहरणानां च व्रतानां सत्यम् एव च त्वम् एवेच्छा च द्वेषश् च रागो मोहः शमः क्षमा
You are the thunderbolt among weapons, and truth among vows; you alone are desire, aversion, passion, delusion, tranquility, and forgiveness.
व्यवसायो धृतिर् लोभः कामक्रोधौ जयाजयौ त्वं गदी त्वं शरी चापी खट्वाङ्गी मुद्गरी तथा
You are resolve, steadfastness, greed, desire and anger, victory and defeat; you are the mace, the arrow, the bow, the club, and the mallet.
छेत्ता भेत्ता प्रहर्ता च नेता मन्तासि नो मतः दशलक्षणसंयुक्तो धर्मो ऽर्थः काम एव च
You are the cutter, the breaker, the striker, the leader, and the counselor, as we understand; you are dharma endowed with its ten characteristics, as well as artha and kāma.
इन्दुः समुद्रः सरितः पल्वलानि सरांसि च लतावल्ल्यस् तृणौषध्यः पशवो मृगपक्षिणः
You are the moon, the ocean, the rivers, the ponds, and the lakes; you are the creepers and vines, grasses and herbs, cattle, wild animals, and birds.
द्रव्यकर्मगुणारम्भः कालपुष्पफलप्रदः आदिश् चान्तश् च मध्यश् च गायत्र्य् ओंकार एव च
You are the origin of substance, action, and quality, the giver of time, flowers, and fruits; you are the beginning, the end, and the middle, the Gāyatrī and the syllable Oṃ.
हरितो लोहितः कृष्णो नीलः पीतस् तथा क्षणः कद्रुश् च कपिलो बभ्रुः कपोतो मच्छकस् तथा
You are green, red, black, blue, yellow, and fleeting; you are Kadru, Kapila, Babhru, Kapota, and also Macchaka.
सुवर्णरेता विख्यातः सुवर्णश् चाप्य् अथो मतः सुवर्णनामा च तथा सुवर्णप्रिय एव च
You are renowned as Suvarṇaretas, and also called Suvarṇa; you are named Suvarṇanāma and indeed Suvarṇapriya.
त्वम् इन्द्रश् च यमश् चैव वरुणो धनदो ऽनलः उत्फुल्लश् चित्रभानुश् च स्वर्भानुर् भानुर् एव च
You are Indra, Yama, Varuṇa, Kubera, and Agni; you are Utphulla, Citrabhānu, Svarbhānu, and also Bhānu.
होत्रं होता च होम्यं च हुतं चैव तथा प्रभुः त्रिसौपर्णस् तथा ब्रह्मन् यजुषां शतरुद्रियम्
You are the offering, the offerer, the object to be offered, and the oblation itself, as well as the Lord; you are the trisauparṇa, O Brahman, and the Śatarudriya among Yajur hymns.
पवित्रं च पवित्राणां मङ्गलानां च मङ्गलम् प्राणश् च त्वं रजश् च त्वं तमः सत्त्वयुतस् तथा
You are the purifier among purifiers, the auspicious among auspicious things; you are prāṇa, you are rajas, and you are tamas endowed with sattva.
प्राणो ऽपानः समानश् च उदानो व्यान एव च उन्मेषश् च निमेषश् च क्षुत्तृङ्जृम्भा तथैव च
You are prāṇa, apāna, samāna, udāna, and vyāna; you are opening and closing of the eyes, hunger, thirst, and yawning as well.
लोहिताङ्गश् च दंष्ट्री च महावक्त्रो महोदरः शुचिरोमा हरिच्छ्मश्रुर् ऊर्ध्वकेशश् चलाचलः
Red-bodied, with fangs, a great mouth and vast belly, pure-haired, green-bearded, hair standing upright, moving and unmoving.
गीतवादित्रनृत्याङ्गो गीतवादनकप्रियः मत्स्यो जालो जलो ऽजय्यो जलव्यालः कुटीचरः
His limbs are song, music, and dance; fond of singing and playing instruments; a fish, a net, water, unconquerable, a water-serpent, a dweller in huts.
