नानाविकृतवक्त्राय खड्गजिह्वोग्रदंष्ट्रिणे पक्षमासलवार्धाय तुम्बीवीणाप्रियाय च
Salutations to the one with various deformed faces, with sword-tongue and fierce fangs, whose nourishment is fortnight and month, and who delights in the lute and vina.
अघोरघोररूपाय घोराघोरतराय च नमः शिवाय शान्ताय नमः शान्ततमाय च

Those who speak of Brahman declare you to be the Ṛg, Sāma, and the sacred syllable Oṃ. 'Hāyi, hāyi, Hare, hāyi, huvāhā'—thus do they sing your praise.
गायन्ति त्वां सुरश्रेष्ठाः सामगा ब्रह्मवादिनः यजुर्मय ऋङ्मयश् च सामाथर्वयुतस् तथा
The best of the gods, the singers of the Sāma, and those versed in Brahman sing of you; you are composed of Yajur, Ṛg, Sāma, and also Atharva.
पठ्यसे ब्रह्मविद्भिस् त्वं कल्पोपनिषदां गणैः ब्राह्मणाः क्षत्रिया वैश्याः शूद्रा वर्णाश्रमाश् च ये
You are recited by knowers of Brahman, by groups versed in the Kalpa and Upaniṣads; Brāhmaṇas, Kṣatriyas, Vaiśyas, Śūdras, and all those of the social orders and stages of life.
त्वम् एवाश्रमसंघाश् च विद्युत् स्तनितम् एव च संवत्सरस् त्वम् ऋतवो मासा मासार्धम् एव च
You alone are the communities of āśramas, the lightning and thunder; you are the year, the seasons, the months, and even the half-months.
कला काष्ठा निमेषाश् च नक्षत्राणि युगानि च वृषाणां ककुदं त्वं हि गिरीणां शिखराणि च
You are the divisions of time—kalās, kāṣṭhās, nimeṣas—and the constellations and ages; you are the hump of bulls and the peaks of mountains.

You are the thunderbolt among weapons, and truth among vows; you alone are desire, aversion, passion, delusion, tranquility, and forgiveness.
व्यवसायो धृतिर् लोभः कामक्रोधौ जयाजयौ त्वं गदी त्वं शरी चापी खट्वाङ्गी मुद्गरी तथा
You are resolve, steadfastness, greed, desire and anger, victory and defeat; you are the mace, the arrow, the bow, the club, and the mallet.
छेत्ता भेत्ता प्रहर्ता च नेता मन्तासि नो मतः दशलक्षणसंयुक्तो धर्मो ऽर्थः काम एव च
You are the cutter, the breaker, the striker, the leader, and the counselor, as we understand; you are dharma endowed with its ten characteristics, as well as artha and kāma.
