Vrishni had two sons, Svaphalka and Citraka; Svaphalka obtained as wife the daughter of the king of Kashi.

Her name was Gandini, and her father always gave cows; from her was born the mighty-armed, learned, and hospitable son.
Then was born the illustrious Akrura, generous and broad-handed; also Upamadgu, Madgu, Mudara, and Arimardana.

Endowed with beauty and youth, enchanting to all beings, Akrura had two sons by Ugrasena, delight of the lineage.
Vasudeva and Upadeva, radiant as gods, were born; Citraka's sons were Prithu and Viprithu.

Subahu and Bahubahu, Shravistha and Shravanā were women; whoever utters this false accusation against Krishna—
He knows that false curses never touch him at any time.
When Krishna gave the Syamantaka jewel to Satrajit, Babhrur took it away, and Bhoja and Shatadhanvan also.
Akrura always sought Satyabhama, blameless, and searched for the Syamantaka jewel.
After killing Satrajit, the mighty Shatadhanva took the jewel at night and then gave it to Akrura.
Akrura, having received the excellent gem, made an agreement: 'I must not be revealed by you.'
'We will approach you, oppressed by Krishna; today, all Dvaraka is surely under my control.'
When her father was slain, Satyabhama, afflicted with grief, mounted her chariot and went to the city of Varanavata.
Satyabhama, distressed, reported to her husband the actions of Shatadhanva of the Bhoja line, and, standing at his side, she wept.
Hari performed the water-rites for the burned Pandavas, and for the sake of the Pandus’ lineage, he appointed Satyaki.
Then Madhusudana quickly went to Dvaraka and spoke these words to his elder, the illustrious wielder of the plough.
Prasena was killed by a lion, Satrajit by Shatadhanva; but the Syamantaka jewel, O mighty one, is mine, for I am its rightful lord.
Therefore, ascend the chariot swiftly; after slaying the great charioteer Bhoja, O mighty-armed one, the Syamantaka jewel will be ours.
Then a tumultuous battle began between Bhoja and Krishna; Shatadhanva, seeing Akrura, looked in all directions.
Seeing Bhoja and Janardana both enraged in battle, Akrura, though capable, did not join due to a curse upon him.
Then, struck by fear, Bhoja resolved to flee, and with his mare Hridaya, he covered a hundred yojanas and more.
Hridaya, famed as the mare who could travel a hundred yojanas, was Bhoja’s steed, O Brahmins, with whom he fought Krishna.
When Hridaya’s speed was spent after a hundred yojanas, seeing his own chariot’s advantage, Shatadhanva was struck down.
Then, O Brahmins, when the exhausted mare died from fatigue and distress, her life-breaths departed into the sky, and Krishna spoke to Rama.
Stay here, mighty-armed one, for my horses are spent; I will go on foot and seize the Syamantaka jewel.
Then Acyuta went on foot, O Brahmins, and near Mithila, he, master of supreme weapons, slew Shatadhanva.
But after slaying the mighty Bhoja, he did not see the Syamantaka jewel; when Krishna returned, the plough-wielder said, 'Give me the jewel.'
